B&B Location
|
| |
Chippenham is a busy market town in Wiltshire. It is ideally placed for easy access via the M4 to London and Wales, via the M5 to the Southwest and Birmingham and via the A350 to the Ferry ports of Portsmouth and Southampton.
Bristol Airport is around 1 hour away and Heathrow Airport is less than 2 hours drive. Both can also be accessed easily by public transport.
Chippenham train station is a 5 minute walk from Number 35 and has a frequent regular service to London, Swindon, Bath and Bristol with connections to most other parts of the country.
There is a bus stop, two minutes walk from Number 35 where you can catch a local bus to Bath or Swindon.
National Express Coaches stop in Chippenham running between Bristol and London (via Heathrow). The coach stop is in the centre of town; a 5-10 minute easy walk to Number 35. We are on the main Bristol Road out of Chippenham.
There is no on street parking in this area, but there are two car parks where cars can be left at the owners risk. On the corner of Marshfield Road and Park Lane is an office car park. We have an agreement to use this car park between 5pm and 8am Monday to Friday and at all times on Saturday and Sunday. It is a short, 50 yard walk to our house. We have also made arrangements for parking with the West End Working Men's club which is on the opposite side of the road. You can park here at any time and we have permits to put in your car. There is a traffic island in the middle of the road to help you cross.
