Carefully prepared breakfasts served at separate tables are tailored to suit using homemade preserves and bread and fresh local Somerset produce wherever possible. Prior to 07.30 a self-serve continental can be made available for early travellers to Bristol International Airport, from a choice of cereal, fruit, juice, muffins, croissants, hot cross buns, toast and homemade preserves. Special dietary requirements catered for. Please advise when booking.
Hiking paths adjacent to the house leading to the Iron Age Hill fort of Dolberrow Warren, make The Mendip Gate an ideal base for Ramblers and Hillwalkers alike. Tailored packages available for West Mendip Way hikers include collection and drop off, packed lunch and luggage transfer to next destination. A foot spa can be made available for weary feet or full body pampering with Stacey Natural Beauty can be pre-booked for your return.
The National Trust property, Tyntesfield House is a short distance away and picnic hampers are available to order from us to enjoy in their grounds.

It is alive with places to absorb the influence that sea trading has had on the city over the years. Explore the historic SS Great Britain or John Cabot's Matthew in Bristol Harbour. With a huge choice of shops, restaurants, art galleries, museums, theatres, and many attractions including Bristol Zoo, @Bristol Exploratory and Wildscreen, you will have to come back!

The Mall is a stunning shopping centre with 130 top name stores, 15 cafes and restaurants sandwiched between the largest Marks and Spencer in the South West and John Lewis, stocking half a million different lines. It boasts 7000 free parking spaces and a bus stop right outside John Lewis.
Churchill hosts Somerset's Dry Ski Slope, approx. 2 miles from The Mendip Gate b and b, 7 miles from Bristol airport. Set in a scenic woodland setting on the edge of the glorious Mendip Hills, the Avon Ski Centre is reminiscent of a genuine alpine resort, where you can escape the bustle of city life. It provides the perfect environment in which to learn to ski.
Cheddar Caves and Gorge are approx. 4 miles providing shopping and leisure activities for all ages. |

To reach the Mendip Gate, near Bristol airport FROM THE SOUTH-WEST
Take M5 North. Leave M5 at J22 and take A38 North (signposted Bristol and Bristol airport). Approx. 12 miles enter village of Churchill, go straight through traffic lights and we are 350 yds on right hand side. If you pass The Stag and Hounds PH you've just passed us.
FROM THE NORTH OR WALES
Take M5 South. Leave M5 at J20 take the B3133 (signposted Yatton). Travel through Yatton and at traffic lights, turn right onto the A370, then left at second set back onto the B3133 (dogleg). Follow B3133 for approx. 3 miles through twisting road and at mini roundabout take right turning. At junction with A38, turn right (signposted Bridgwater). We are 450 yds on left just after The Churchill Inn.
