Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Situated in Trefriw, near Betws-y-Coed on the northern edge of Snowdonia in North Wales and overlooking the lovely Conwy Valley, Yr Hafod (The Summer Dwelling in Welsh), was formerly a farmhouse and dates from the Middle Ages.

This non-smoking country house style guest accommodation in Snowdonia is an ideal location for a relaxing break or holiday in North Wales. Bed and breakfast (B&B) accommodation is provided, although most guests also take advantage of the excellent evening meals.

 

Betws-y-Coed Attractions

 
Located in Trefriw between Betws-y-Coed and Conwy, in the Conwy Valley in North Wales, Yr Hafod is set in grounds that include an off road car park, and extend to some two and a half acres. The landscaped gardens are a perfect place to unwind at the end of the day, and the rhododendrens (see below) are particularly attractive in spring and early summer.

The village of Trefriw nestles into the north eastern edge of Snowdonia, an area full of lakes, woods and hills and which offers a great diversity of walking, from a gentle lakeside amble to the challenge of Carnedd Llewelyn, a mountain only a little lower than Snowdon. Mountain biking and horse riding is also well catered for in this area of Snowdonia.

For guests of a less active disposition, this is an excellent base for exploring Snowdonia and the rest of North Wales with Bodnant Gardens, Betws-y-Coed and Betws-y-Coed all within 15/20 minutes drive. Other attractions include the castles at Conwy, Caernarfon and Dolwyddelan, the steam railways of Ffestiniog, Welsh Highland Railway, and the Snowdon Mountain Railway, National Trust properties at Bodnant Gardens, Penrhryn Castle and Plas Newydd, and much, much more.
