Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Our season is from the 1st March to the 31st October.

Approved to Bord Failte and Irish Tourist Board Standards member of Town and Country Homes. Award winning B&B, with award winning gardens. Since opening in 1998 Carramore Lodge has hosted guests from over 50 of the worlds countries.

Take time to enjoy the peace and tranquility of our home and gardens while still only 5mins walking distance, from restaurants, pubs, public jetty, river walks, fishing, boating, water sports, horse riding, pony trekking, scenic driving, hill walking, and golf.

All rooms are en-suite, full size, with no sloping ceilings or attic windows. Each room has tea/coffee making facilities.

Beautiful mature garden with large numbers of mature trees, shrubs and perennial plants. The garden specialises in Camellias, Rhododendrons and Azaleas. Large mixed borders that are a riot of colour particularly in the summer months. Gardening advice and information given freely to anyone who would like it.

 

Killaloe Attractions

 
This is a special place in a rich and rare land. An enchanting domain whose spell has been cast on millions of visitors over thousands of years.

Boat Hire:
The Spirit of Killaloe is a luxury 50 seater passenger boat. On board is a choice of two decks, the upper deck is ideally suited to taking the sun and enjoying the spectaclar scenery. The lower deck which has central heating and a stereo system can seat up to 50 people with full bar facilities, tea, coffee and snack refreshments on board.

Golfing:
There are many top class golf courses in the Shannon region, the closest of which is East Clare Golf Club. This is a challenging track set in beautiful surroundings.

There are a large number of scenic walks, and hiking trails in the area.
 

B&B Location
 
We are exceptionally easy to find, being just on the outskirts of Ballina/ Killaloe.

From Limerick, take the N7 and travel for approx 10 miles to Birdhill, pass through the village and take the left turn (R494). Travel for 2 miles and we are 100 yards past the 60 kph speed limit on the right.

From Nenagh take N7 for Limerick, travel for 8 miles and take right turn (R 496), travel for 3 miles and take right at T junction, we are a further 100 yards on the right.

From Killaloe village, cross the bridge to Ballina and turn right, travel out towards Birdhill, when you pass the 50 km speed limit sign we are a further 200 meters on the left. Sign just before gate.
