Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Castlegaddery is a family run home where guests are greeted with a welcoming cup of tea or coffee served by your host. Facilities to make tea, herbal tea and coffee are provided in all our bedrooms. Televisions are also provided in the bedrooms. A focal point in Castlegaddery is the guests lounge which is open plan to allow for interaction between our guests should you wish.

We have single, twin and double rooms. Some of the rooms have ensuite facilities and some have private bathroom. All have been recently restored and are in excellent condition.

 

Drogheda Attractions

 
We are less than five minutes walking time away from 'The Morning Star', a genuine thatched rural Irish public house, where many of our guests have met the local people and tried Irelands best pint of Stout.

One can walk to The Battlefield of the Boyne at King Williams Glen from Castlegaddery and enjoy the fresh country air. There is a viewing point for visitors at King Williams Glen. There is also a tourist office there.

The Boyne Valley is steeped in History, whether it relates to Oliver Cromwells time in Drogheda or the neolitic men who built Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth. Beside Castlegaddery is the ancient Mellifont Abbey, former home of the Cistercian Monks. Nearby Slane is home to the Ledwidge Museum and the famous annual Rock concert in the grounds of Slane Castle.

Drogheda hosts Millmount Museum among its beauty and history.
