Our establishment is fitted with central heating throughout. All or some rooms have ensuite facilities. We have on-site parking. We have a residents lounge. There are scenic walks in the surrounding area. Our BNB is a working farm.

Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Lough Dan House is situated over 1000 feet up in the Wicklow Mountains on an eighty-acre hill farm, overlooking Lough Dan, the largest natural lake on the east coast of Ireland. It is the most ideal base for a walking Holiday, whether for a short one or two day break, or for a much longer Holiday.

The rooms are ensuite with baths and shower, offering king-size or twin beds. The entire house has under floor heating through out to add to your comfort. The House also has generous sitting and dining area as well as drying an laundry facilities. Of the course the log fire is a great talking point in the evenings.

We provide delicious home cooking, serving all locally produced meats and vegetables from the farm, game from the mountain and fish from the lakes and rivers. All evening meals served with complimentary wine or other refreshments. We also provide Pack Lunches.

The farm, which extends to over eighty acres, is bounded on three sides by the Wicklow Mountains National Park, of over twenty five thousand hectares; the largest National Park in Ireland. The Wicklow Mountains run from the outskirts of Dublin City south-westwards for 130 kilometers to southern tip of Co. Wicklow. The mountains are the highest are of upland in Ireland and are home to some of the highest peaks in the country.

Fully organised Walking Holidays are catered for which covers everything you could possibly need for a most pleasant and refreshing break. This includes all transport, accommodation, delicious home cooking, serving all locally produced meats and vegetables from the farm, game from the mountain and fish from the lakes and rivers. All evening meals served with complimentary wine or other refreshments.

Your host, Sean Byrne, will be your guide on all organised walks, which range from seven to fifteen kilometers, depending on your level of fitness. During your holiday, you will witness spectacular scenery, listen to exciting stories about the area and people who once lived here and perhaps still live here, above all you will enjoy the experience and look forward to returning.
