Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Ash Cottage is a family run bed & breakfast, offering bright, comfortable, en-suite accommodation. It is situated close to the thriving town of Navan, on a quiet tree-lined road.

The spacious rooms have recently been decorated and furnished. A good night’s sleep is assured, due to comfortable beds and quiet location. Each room has a multi-channel television, hairdryer and en-suite bathroom. The en-suite bathrooms are equipped with hot, powerful showers. A comfortable living room is also provided for guests and a wide range of breakfasts are available in the dining room.

 

Navan Attractions

 
Navan offers a variety of facilities and amenities for any visitor, including shopping, dining and a wide selection of pubs, night clubs and hotels. The house is a three minute walk from the Ardboyne Hotel and a two minute walk from the local pub and restaurant.

Sporting fans are well catered for. The nearby River Boyne is famous for its salmon and trout fishing and the house is a two minute stroll from Navan Rugby Football Club. Navan Racecourse, Fairyhouse Racecourse and high quality local courses are a short drive away. County Meath is an untapped goldmine for cyclists. It is a wonderfully green and fertile county with quiet country roads to satisfy any skill level.

The County of Meath is the most historic in Ireland. Close to Ash Cottage are the prehistoric Knowth and Dowth burial sites, the Hill of Tara (the seat of the ancient High Kings of Ireland) and the UNESCO World Heritage site, Newgrange. Castles, round towers and monasteries are a feature of the local landscape.

Fron Dublin Airport take the m1 south and exit onto the m50 south,then exit to the m3 towards Cavan/Navan(there is a toll of 1.30 euro on this motorway.Exit at junction 8- Navan South and travel to roundabout to r147 towards Navan.After 1 km you will see a sign post pointing left for the Ardboyne Hotel and Ash Cottage. Take this left you will find us about a kilometre down the road.

FROM NAVAN TOWN
Take the r147 towards Dublin.after 2 km see the sign for the Ardboyne Hotel and ASH cOTTAGE.turn right at the signs and continue down road for 1.5 km and see b&b on the right.

From the M1 (Newry):

Head northeast on M1 toward Dublin Road Roundabout
At Dublin Road Roundabout, take the 5th exit and stay on M1
Entering Ireland
Continue on M1
Take the N51 exit toward Baile Shláine/Slane/Droichead atha Thuaidh/Drogheda N
At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto N51
Go through 1 roundabout
Turn left at kELLS-Cavan Road/r147 towards Dublin.
Continue to follow R147 with river Boyne on your left.After Maxol petrol station look for signs for Ardboyne Hotel and Ash Cottage.Turn right off main road at signs and travel past hotel entrance rugby club for 1.5 km or 1.5 minutes-you will see our sign on the right.

FROM DUBLIN BUS ROUTE

Ash Cottage is a two minute walk from the Dublin-Navan bus route. Ask the bus driver to stop at the Old Bridge Inn. The house is a 5 minutes drive from the centre of Navan town.
