Tommy & Juliet Jowitt will welcome you warmly and do everything they can to make your stay at Thorpe Lodge a real pleasure, an enjoyable break, and a memorable experience.

Thorpe Lodge is a listed Georgian country house at the gateway to the Dales - the classic English family home lived in by Tommy and Juliet Jowitt who do everything possible to make their guests feel at home. Visitors use the South Wing with a separate entrance off the courtyard. Bedrooms are large, traditional, and exceptionally comfortable, with television, video, tea/coffee, and a shared guest sitting room. The 12 acres of beautiful gardens and woodland have themed borders, a hornbeam walk and a walled garden with old roses, formal ponds and statues.

Local Attractions
Thorpe Lodge is the perfect centre from which to explore the delights of North Yorkshire. Sightsee in York, Shop in Harrogate - or visit Fountains Abbey, Ripon Cathedral, Ripley Castle, Selby Abbey, Rievaulx Terracesand of course Herriott Country
 

B&B Location
Ripon is about 4 hours from London and Edinburgh, 45 minutes from Leeds, York, and Darlington, and 20 minutes from Harrogate. The nearest airport is Leeds/Bradford.
From the A1(M), north of Wetherby, turn off at Junction 48 towards Boroughbridge and Ripon. At Boroughbridge, take the B6265 to Ripon. After the racecourse on your left, turn left at the roundabout onto the A61, the Ripon Bypass, towards Harrogate. Go straight over the next roundabout and then take the second turning left to Bishop Monkton.
After about three quarters of a mile, turn left through the Thorpe Lodge stone gateway. Follow the drive through the woodland, but turn right just before the house. Drive past the gravel area on your left, then turn left, and left again, and park in the courtyard. The door is nearby.
