Sea View House in Doolin is an AA 4 Star bed and breakfast and is the home of the Hughes Family. A warm and friendly welcome awaits you from your hostess Darra Hughes and her family.

Our home is in the center of Doolin, superbly located in it's own grounds on a hillside overlooking the Atlantic ocean, the Allie river and the beautiful Doolin countryside. To enable you to stay in contact with family and business we provide Wi-Fi wireless internet access.

Located right in the village of Doolin our guest house is a peaceful oasis with a relaxed quiet countryside atmosphere a perfect place to enjoy your holidays. When the weather permits you are welcome to relax on our sunny deck overlooking the sea and soak in the glorious views and sunsets.

We can offer you peaceful accommodation in one of our four spacious and elegant guest rooms. The guest rooms are bright, airy and warm.

 

Doolin Attractions

 
Sea View House guesthouse in Doolin is an ideal location to start exploring the wonders of Doolin. Doolin has much to offer the visitor with many indoor and outdoor pursuits available in the local area, the Burren, Aran Islands, Cliffs of Moher, horse riding, golf, sandy beaches and fishing.

Clare is quite possibly the most musical county in Ireland. There are more musicians to the square mile than anywhere in the world. Doolin was firmly put onto the global map of Irish traditional music thanks to the three Russell brothers; Packie, Gussy and Miko. They learned their musical talent from their mother Annie and then as young men from older traditional musicians in the area and so inherited the distinctive style and sound peculiar to Clare.

The late Micho Russell was a wonderful man, a fine musician in the old style and an inspiration to many younger musicians. He travelled the world playing his music,the seemingly simple, yet extremely subtle and complex music of west Clare that he and his brothers, had recorded on an album, 'The Russell Family of Doolin, County Clare'.

Young, aspiring musicians came from Europe, America and Australia and were made welcome before the days of organised sessions. The denim-clad visitors joined in, thrilled to find music that was, and still is a living reality today.

The celebration of the musical heritage and the cultivation of the living tradition of Doolin continues to grow. Foremost in the traditional music calendar in Doolin is the " Russell Memorial weekend ". This occurs during the last weekend of February each year and is a festival of musical events organised by the Doolin Festival Committee.

From Dublin:

Get onto the M50 and head for the N7 southbound, you will be heading south on the N7 as far as Limerick.
In Limerick follow the signs for Shannon airport or Ennis.
Take the N18 from Limerick to Ennis.
Take the turn off to Ennistymon on to the N85.
Follow the signs for Ennistymon-N85 going straight through all the roundabouts.
At the last roundabout take a left onto the N85 heading to Ennistymon.
Drive staright through Ennistymon towards Lisdoonvarna on the N67.
At the 4th crossroads turn left onto the R478. This road will bring you to Doolin and the Cliffs of Moher.
After about 2-3 miles you come to a cross roads and a Gas Station.
Turn right down the hill towards the sea.
At the crossroads at the bottom of the hill turn left following the signs for Doolin pier and Seaview House.
After half a mile you will see Seaview House up on a hill to your left.

From Shannon Airport:

Take the N18 to Ennis.
Take the turn off to Ennistymon on to the N85.
Follow the signs for Ennistymon-N85 going straight through all the roundabouts.
At the last roundabout take a left onto the N85 heading to Ennistymon.
Drive staright through Ennistymon towards Lisdoonvarna on the N67.
At the 4th crossroads turn left onto the R478. This road will bring you to Doolin and the Cliffs of Moher.
After about 2-3 miles you come to a cross roads and a Gas Station.
Turn right down the hill towards the sea.

After half a mile you will see Seaview House up on a hill to your left across the river from O'Connors pub.
