Bed and Breakfast Description
|
|
Situated on the southern fringes of Bodmin Moor, Mount Pleasant was originally a 17th century farmhouse, which has been tastefully and extensively refurbished. It now offers a year round bed and breakfast accommodation, managed by the resident owners, the Mustoes, and their family.
Mount Pleasant enjoys lovely views over delightful countryside and is the perfect place to relax. Conveniently situated for touring Cornwall, with the Eden Project and beautiful beaches, about 30 minutes drive away.
Mount Pleasant has been tastefully and extensively refurbished and now provides high quality bed and breakfast accommodation. With extensive views over spectacular moorland, it’s the perfect place to relax, unwind and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the surrounding countryside. We look forward to welcoming you to Mount Pleasant, where high standards and personal, friendly and informal attention are guaranteed.
We have a total of six bedrooms, with splendid country views. Four are double and two are twin, all are en-suite with colour TV, radio alarms, tea and coffee making trays and hairdryer.
We can accommodate families with children, sharing a room with parents, sleeping on z-beds, at a reduced rate. Please ask for details.
Breakfast is taken in our comfortable and stylish dining-room and comprises a delicious, home cooked English breakfast or continental style with fruit and cereals. Early breakfasts are available for guests who have to be away for business! We can also provide packed lunches and dinner by arrangement.
There is a spacious lounge with a real log fire for those chillier evenings and a delightful conservatory for sunny days. Private parking and bicycle storage is available and we also have an old style pay phone box. Guests are welcome to take advantage of the large gardens, heated swimming pool, laundry facilities and games room.
Please note, Mount Pleasant is a non-smoking establishment. |

Local Attractions
|
Of course, Bodmin Moor is all around Mount Pleasant. You can walk out of the grounds directly on to the Moor, or just a short drive away you can visit the famous landmarks, including Roughtor and Brown Willy, the highest point on the Moor, as well as The Cheesewring and the historic mining relics around Minions.
A short drive from Mount Pleasant is the amazing Eden Project, home to the world’s largest greenhouses. Currently there are two conservatories, one a majestic rainforest cathedral; The Humid Tropics Biome, the other host to the fruits, plants and flowers of the Mediterranean type regions; The Warm Temperate Biome. They form a majestic backdrop to the Outdoor Landscape; interlocking terraces telling the story of plants that have changed the world, started wars, halted epidemics, inspired artists, clothed, fed and sheltered us and which might be crucial to our future.
Garden lovers can visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Lanhydrock, or many others nearby. Walkers can follow the coastal path, circular routes, the Copper Trail or the Saints Way or stroll in Cardinham Woods. Cyclists can pedal the 17 miles of car free Camel Trail to Padstow and everyone loves the spectacular coastline with Land's End, Newquay, Looe, Polperro, Tintagel and St. Ives all within a days outing. |
