Bed and Breakfast Description

Trean House is over 100 years old, with a large garden which was originally an apple orchard. Located in peaceful countryside, the house has been updated throughout the years to guarantee a high level of comfort, while still retaining its original charm.
During the day, explore the beautiful Inishowen Peninsula and in the evening, put your feet up in front of an open turf fire. A warm welcome awaits from your hosts, Joyce and Mervyn Norris.
We are a fully approved by Bord Failte and have 4 guest bedrooms available.
Suckler cows and sheep are the main enterprises on the 125 acre farm which is managed according to the best environmental practices. With its neatly stone walled fields, streams, wooded glens and beautiful views over Tremone Bay, guests will find great peace and tranquility here. |

From star gazing to standing stones, you'll find many interesting places around the peninsula; including Greencastle Maritime Museum and Planetarium, Doagh Island Famine Village, the Grianan of Aileach ring fort and numerous other ancient Celtic stone monuments. Visit Irelands’ most northerly point, at Malin Head.
Craic agus Ceol - Discover great pubs and restaurants, traditional music sessions are held weekly in pubs throughout the peninsula.
Golf - Inishowen hosts many great courses including Greencastle, Fahan and the highly acclaimed Ballyliffin Golf club.
Beaches - Beautiful sandy beaches to take the kids to at Tremone, Culdaff, Kinnagoe, Shroove, Five Fingers Strand...
Outdoor Activities - Sea angling, beach fishing, horse riding, cycling, surfing, climbing, bird watching and walking trails - Inishowen has it all!

From Moville:
Take the R238 out of Moville (signposted for Carndonagh) for 5km, turn right at the crossroads (signposted for Carrowmenagh/Trean House).
After approx 1.5km, the road splits into a fork, take the right fork (signposted for Carrowmenagh/Trean House).
Continue into the village of Carrowmenagh, and when the road splits in two, take the left hand fork (signposted for Tremone Bay/Trean House).
Trean House is at the bottom of that road.
From Derry:
Follow signposts for Moville/Culmore out of the city (Road A2, Moville should be signposted from the roundabout at the Foyle Bridge).
After driving through the village of Muff, continue on this road (R238) until you reach Moville, approx 29km / 25mins away.
Once you reach the town of Moville, take the first left out of the centre of the town (Road R238, signposted for Carndonagh).
Drive for approx 5km, turn right at the crossroads (signposted for Carrowmenagh/Trean House).
After approx 1.5km, the road splits into a fork, take the right fork (signposted for Carrowmenagh/Trean House).
Continue into the village of Carrowmenagh, and when the road splits in two, take the left hand fork (signposted for Tremone Bay/Trean House).
