Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Tea-Room & Gardens

At Little Pengelly we take great pleasure in serving local Cornish produce. Relax in our peaceful garden whilst enjoying a treat from our menu.

We offer:
Cream Teas with homemade scones and jam
Selection of homemade cakes
Sandwiches and Ploughman's lunch
Cornish Cheeses

Accommodation:-
We have three rooms, each is detailed below. All of the rooms are on the first floor and are light and airy. They have attractive views, either over the tea-room's gardens or the courtyard.

A generous farmhouse breakfast is served in the conservatory overlooking the gardens. The tea-room is open 12:00 - 6:00 daily (high season).

All of the rooms have their own tea making facilities and television. Laundry service available within 24 hours. Considerate pet owners are welcome. There is ample parking on-site. Sorry but smoking is not allowed anywhere within the buildings.

The master bedroom is newly refurbished and commands views into the courtyard. It comprises a double ensuite room with its own annex with a single bed. The ensuite has a walk in shower.

One standard double ensuite room with views on to the garden. The ensuite has a combination bath and shower.

Our twin bedded room has views into the garden and has the use of a separate private bathroom with bath and shower.

 

Hayle Attractions

 
Eden Project:-
Magnificant domed greenhouses provide the climate for Mediterranean, South African and Californian plants. The huge former clay pit has become one of England's leading tourist attractions.

St. Michael's Mount:-
Originally a Benedictine priory this beautiful 12th century castle perches dramatically on a rocky island and can be reached by boat or across a causway (low tide only). Stunning views of Mount's Bay front the pretty village with interesting shops.

National Maritime Museum Cornwall:-
This futuristic building in Falmouth docks houses boats and craft of all types. Highly interactive, the museum uses video, sound and the written word to highlight the importance of seafaring.

Lanhydrock:-
Magnificant late Victorian country house with extensive servant's quarters, gardens and wooded estate. One of the most fascinating and complete late 19th century houses in England, Lanhydrock is full of atmosphere.

The Minack Theatre:-
World famous open-air theatre perches on the cliff at Porthcumo. The Atlantic ocean faces the theatre which puts on plays from May to the end of September. Stunning views from the visitor centre coffee shop.

Isles of Scilly:-
These beautiful islands can play host to an interesting day trip. The five islands lie 29 miles south west of Cornwall. Helicopter 20 mins from Penzance.

King Harry Ferry:-
Voted one of the worlds top 10 most beautiful ferry crossings this ferry trip takes you between Trelissick (Truro way) and Philleigh (near Falmouth)

Levant Mine & Beam Engine:-
Perched on the cliff edge the famous Levant bean engine conjures up the sight, sounds and smells of Cornwalls industrial past.

Half a mile along the cliff is Geevor mine and mining museum and Botallack mine.

Trevarno Estate:-
Privately owned gardens encompass pretty woodland walks and lake.
Home also to the National Museum of gardening which is full of inventive tools and equipment from by gone eras.

If approaching West Cornwall via the A30 / past Truro and Redruth

Leave the A30 at the HAYLE roundabout, 4th exit s/posted Hayle. Almost immediately you will reach a mini island - turn LEFT.

Follow this winding lane until you reach the halt sign where it joins the B3302 (approx. 3 miles) - Turn LEFT. In half a mile you will pass through the village of LEEDSTOWN.

Proceed for another one and a half miles and as you approach the top of a winding hill you will see our Cream Tea sign (with "Teapot") on your left.

Take the next left and our Farmhouse is on your right approximately 200 yds down this lane - clearly signposted at the entrance.

If approaching West Cornwall via St Austell, Falmouth & Helston

After leaving Helston via the A394, at the top of the first steep hill, turn RIGHT (there is a large Petrol Station on the corner). This is the B3302 to Leedstown and Hayle.

After two minor cross-roads, look out for our Cream Tea ("Teapot") sign on your right, (approx 4 miles), just after which you will see a row of white cottages in front of you as you approach our cross-roads. Turn RIGHT.

Our farmhouse is on your right approximately 200 yds down this lane, clearly signposted at the entrance.
