Bed and Breakfast Description

The Bryn Derwen, AA Highly commended 4 Star Guest House in Llandudno, North Wales was built in 1878 for William Martyn Grose (a wealthy China Clay Merchant) and his family as a private residence. The Guest House has been beautifully converted, although it retains much of its original character. Great care has been taken to preserve and enhance the charm of this elegant building, to create an atmosphere of warmth and tranquility.

Over the intervening years the Bryn Derwen has gained a reputation of excellence for its quality service and hospitality. Bryn Derwen is one of those unique places that will inspire you to return time and time again. We also have free wireless broadband internet access for the benefit of our guests.

Bryn Derwen has a relaxing garden for their guests to enjoy and, as an added bonus, offroad parking for each of their rooms

Bryn Derwen AA Highly commended 4 Star Guest House is quietly situated only a few minutes walk from the centre of the Victorian resort town of Llandudno with its wide bay and promenade. A short stroll will take you to the West Shore which has breathtaking views of Anglesey

The garden lounge with its delicate sense of historical context , complements the feel of a country house. A further quiet lounge is available for reading or just totally relaxing.

Using seasonally available fresh food, home cooked meals are served in the elegant candle lit dining room. All food can be accompanied by a bottle of fine wine from our comprehensive list or maybe a drink from the bar.

We have nine individually designed en suite bedrooms. All of these have ensuite shower or bath with luxury toiletries. Flat screen Digital TV ( Freeview ) DVD, radio alarm clock & hairdryer.
Comprehensive hospitality tray including a selection of beverages, mineral water & handmade chocolates.
In addition our Superior rooms offer a trouser press, bath robes & separate seating area

Local Attractions

Bryn Derwen is situated in Llandudno, Wales' largest resort town, rich in Victorian and Edwardian elegance and splendour. It's location makes it a perfect base from which to visit Snowdonia National Park the UK's highest mountain range and the medieval castles of Conwy, Caernarfon and Beaumaris.

Bryn Derwen is a short walk from the famous Great Orme, a towering 679-foot limestone headland and Country Park, a place to discover by foot, by car, and by cable-operated tramway or by cable car. You can visit the 4000 year old Bronze age mines and cavern, use the 700 metre toboggan run, ski slope or simply stroll over the parkland taking in the wonderful views of the mountains, the Isle of Anglesey and the Menai Straits.

There is a comprehensive public transport network enabling easy travel throughout the area. The scenic Conwy Valley Railway Line operates from Llandudno to Blaenau Ffestiniog and provides an ideal way to explore this beautiful part of North Wales

If You're Driving
Exit the A55 at the sign for Llandudno and join the A470 towards Llandudno. As you approach the town take your third exit at the Links Hotel roundabout, going straight over the next roundabout to the promenade. At the mini roundabout turn left along the seafront and proceed until you reach the Cenotaph, then turn left and go straight over the roundabout. At the next roundabout go straight over then take the second right onto York Road where you will see the Bryn Derwen directly in front of you.

By Train
Regular Intercity services from all parts of the UK, with London just three hours away. If you are travelling by rail and would like to be collected from Llandudno station, then please contact Steve or Debbie who will be happy to provide this service free of charge.

Flying In
Manchester and Liverpool John Lennon Airports are convenient gateways to North Wales.

Sailing Here
A ferry service is in operation from Dublin to Holyhead.
