Set in private, peaceful gardens our 200 year old traditional Cornish cottage is the perfect place for a relaxing stay.
Surrounded by the historical mining countryside of West Cornwall, Benson's is ideally situated to enjoy the walkways, cycle routes and the heritage of this beautiful part of the UK.
With en-suite to all rooms, tea/coffee making facilities, plus off road parking and secure storage for bicycles, Sue and Mike, along with their enthusiastic greeters Ben and Cassie, look forward to welcoming you to their home.
Benson's double bedrooms are furnished and decorated to a high standard with your comfort in mind. Each room is en-suite with a power shower. One room overlooks the front garden and enjoys the morning sun. From the other, views across the fields to St Day.
Each room has: Fresh flowers Mini-fridge with fresh milk, bottled water and Cornish apple juice LCD digital Freeview tv, alarm clock radio, hairdryer Individually controlled central heating radiator Tea and coffee making facilities plus homemade biscuits There's also a private bathroom for those who prefer to relax in a bath.
Our guest TV lounge plus its collection of books – which you are welcome to borrow - adjoins the dining room and is the ideal place to sit and plan your day, we can also offer wireless broadband connection. Or why not relax in our sunny and secluded garden where - in really good weather - breakfast can be served.
Breakfast is normally served between 8am and 9am in our light and spacious dining room. Fresh and locally sourced produce, wherever possible, is used in our breakfast. |

Benson's is situated on the edge of the old tin mining villages of Carharrack and St Day close to the Gwennap section of the Cornish Mining World Heritage site.
The Mineral Tramways trail network for cyclists and walkers is within very easy reach.
A 10 minute drive brings you to the surfing beaches of Porthtowan and Portreath. Newquay's famous beaches are just 30 minutes away.
At the end of your busy day, a fine glass of ale or wine, with a serving of excellent food can be enjoyed at one or more of the local pubs.
The Cornish Way, the best way to see this is on a bicycle! At Benson's we have secure storage if you bring your own cycles, but you can also hire them from Bissoe Tramways who offer a delivery service. Please ask us for more details.
The Mineral Tramways trail network offers the chance to walk, horse ride or cycle through the remarkable remains of this area's 19th century mining heyday.
If you enjoy gardens, then a visit to Trelissick (NT) just outside Truro and the glorious sub-tropical gardens of Trebah which has its own beach near Falmouth are a must!
The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project are within a short drive of Benson's.
Falmouth Maritime Museum, a nautical in-depth view of our seafaring history.
Gwennap Pit is an open air ampitheatre where John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, preached between 1762 and 1789.
The Cathedral city of Truro.
St Ives and Tate St Ives.
Surfing at Newquay.
Benson's is within easy reach of many beautiful beaches leaving you spoilt for choice whether you are looking to chill on the beach, swim in the sea, or be more energetic and enjoy the exhilaration of surfing.
There are a number of pubs nearby which serve good food. We have sample menus in Benson's to help whet your appetite.
Family Genes: for those of you keen on researching your Cornish roots, Redruth is home to the Cornwall Centre and nearby Helston has a Latter Day Saints research library. |

Travelling West on the A30 you'll reach Chiverton Cross Roundabout, go straight across signposted Redruth and take first turn off signposted A3047 – Scorrier and Falmouth
Pass the Plume of Feathers pub on your right, turn left at the Crossroads Hotel (yes, honest!) go under a bridge and continue to a crossroads, go straight over signposted B3298 Falmouth/St Day
The road winds for a while and goes up and down hill, on the right you'll see a sign for St Day Holiday Park and just after this is a small crossroads, turn left
Take the first left and immediately turn right into Consols Road
You'll pass some bungalows and Benson's at Primrose Cottage is on the left just after the last bungalow
