Local Attractions

Located in a peaceful residential area on the edge of the city, and offering free private parking, it is only a 15-20 minute walk to the historic Cathedral Quarter with its popular mix of cafes, original shops, restaurants and pubs. The High Street shopping area is a 20-25 minute walk away and the University a similar distance.

The Elma Guest House offers an ideal base for walkers and cyclists as well as visitors who like city breaks but prefer a quiet nights sleep!

From the Elma, it is a pleasant walk past the West Common (annexed to the former race course and where locals still graze their horses), rising up to the ridge taking in the panoramic views over Lincoln before passing the Lawns Visitor Centre and the Castle, which marks your entry in to the historic centre of Lincoln. Alternatively, walk past the common and on up to Ellis Mill and the Museum of Lincolnshire Life before entering the Cathedral Quarter. There is also a path running through the West Common that provides a good short-cut to the main shopping centre of Lincoln.
