Aldeburgh Attractions

The breathtaking Heritage Coast is a region of conservation and much is classed as an area of outstanding natural beauty. With miles of walks and cycle trails there are lots of things to do in Suffolk to enjoy the great outdoors. The county is home to an abundance of birds and wildlife, and the RSPB’s flagship reserve, Minsmere, is situated nearby making it the perfect place for birdwatchers.

There are a wealth of places to visit in Suffolk, including pretty villages and market towns including Aldeburgh with its exclusive boutiques and antique shops. And we’re not short on history either with churches, castles, historic houses and Anglo-Saxon burial sites to explore.

A warm Suffolk welcome awaits in Aldeburgh, a quiet and unspoilt seaside resort where many swap the hustle and bustle of their daily routine for bracing walks by the sea, leisurely lunches and retail therapy.

A Suffolk break is closer than you think with good links to Aldeburgh from London, the South-East and the Midlands. Many visit this charming town, with its shingle and pebble beach lined with brightly coloured fishing boats, to soak up the genteel atmosphere.

See the wooden huts where fishermen sell freshly caught fish straight from the sea and look out for the "Scallop", a sculpture dedicated to Benjamin Britten, one of the founding members of the Aldeburgh Festival. Visit in June to enjoy this world-renowned celebration of classical and new music performed at nearby Snape Maltings.
