Totally renovated and refurbished, The Avalon offers 5 Star with new GOLD Award accommodation, fabulous views and a perfect location within Tintagel Village.

The Avalon, friendly and informal with fantastic, panoramic views over to Tintagel Island, St. Materiana’s church and the sea beyond. Five minutes walk from any attraction in Tintagel and coastal path yet still in a peaceful location and has Private parking.

Beautifully furnished Victorian house with all original features in a contemporary style with a Gothic twist. Seven bedrooms, most with those lovely views and all en-suite. Luxurious, handmade beds and mattresses. Superior rooms with 6’ Super king size beds available. Free Wi-Fi service and Honesty Bar available.

Breakfast Award winning, comprehensive breakfast menu with all ingredients locally produced or sourced, free-range and organic whenever possible with special diets catered for.

2010 evaluation by Visit Britain/Quality in Tourism scores for The Avalon: hospitality 100%, cleanliness 100% and breakfasts 100%.

Tintagel Attractions

 
St Materiana, a 900 year old Norman Church, can be seen perched high on Glebe Cliff and also, uninterrupted views of Tintagel Island where stands the legendary ruins of King Arthur's 13th century castle. All are in a Designated Special Area of Conservation in Europe and protected by the National Trust. The Avalon is 10 minutes walk away from the Coastal Path and two minutes from the walkway that leads to Tintagel Island, Cove and Merlin's Cave. Two other attractions 5 minutes away on foot are The Old Post Office, a medieval hall house where it was once a Post Office in Victorian times. See the National Trust website and King Arthur's Great Halls where these vast halls tell the wonderful story of King Arthur.

Off the A39 follow the signs for Tintagel. In Tintagel turn left at the mini roundabout at King Arthur's Great Halls and follow the road through the centre of the village. The road bends steeply right and after 50 yards you will see The Avalon's driveway, leading to the car park on the left hand side immediately after 'The Olive Garden' restaurant.
