Bed and Breakfast Description

Tregosse House is a family home and has 3 double rooms with en-suite facilities.

All rooms are newly refurbished for 2006.

Every room is double aspect with the main view due west across the Atlantic with 180 degree panoramic views from Port Isaac to Lundy Island.

The rooms are spacious, centrally heated, double-glazed and benefit from T.V, D.V.D and refreshment trays.

Breakfast will be served in our dining room at your preferred time or in your room if requested, however this will be at the discretion of your host.

We operate a non-smoking policy within the rooms and unfortunately cannot take dogs due to our own brood.

Our facilities do not enable us to accommodate any persons under the age of 16 years and our rooms are on the first and second floor with no facility for the disabled.

Tregosse House is located in the hamlet of Treknow, only ¾ mile from the village of Tintagel. Situated at the highest point of Treknow, Tregosse House is an isolated Victorian property surrounded by open farmland and only 150 yards from the North Cornwall coastal path. Public footpaths lead from the house directly to the coastal path and the breathtaking views of the north Cornwall coast and only a 10-minute walk directly to Trebarwith Strand.

Tregosse House probably has one of the best panoramic views of the sea in north Cornwall and sunsets to die for. (Not forgetting some pretty impressive storms).

Free parking available directly outside the property on public byway (don’t bother to wash your car before you come!)

Tintagel Attractions

Obviously walking is probably the most popular past time in Cornwall and our location of only a 2 minute walk to the north Cornwall coastal path make Tregosse House the ideal base to explore the cliffs, coves and beaches along this beautiful natural coastline.

During the spring and summer the cliffs are an abundance of colour and fragrance from the many wild flowers and during the autumn and winter the cliff provides the perfect platform for you to feel and appreciate the full force of nature crashing in from the atlantic.

If walking is not your thing, then you can visit the local villages of Tintagel, Boscastle, Port Isaac and Polzeath along the coastline.

Tintagel is our local village, which is drenched in history with the legendary King Arthur and the nights of the round table, with the spectacular castle ruins on the island just below Tintagel village.

Boscastle is one of the prettiest villages on the coastline. Despite the destruction of the flood of 2004, it has risen again to regain its beauty and serenity.

Port Isaac – is just Port Isaac- a fantastic typical cornish fishing port, narrow street, busy harbour and stunning scenery. Played host during 2004 and 2005 to the making of the ‘Doc Martin’ TV series.

Polzeath – for the fitter people who love surfing – long open sandy and safe beach, good restaurants, bars and surf. Coastal walks to Damar Bay and Rock if your feeling fit.

Going further afield:

Explore the sandy beaches along the coast east and west or head off to the south coast to the fishing villages of Mevagissey and Fowey. Head inland to the world renowned ‘Eden Project’ or the beautiful ‘ Lost Gardens of Heligan’.

The moors of Bodmin and Dartmoor are a short drive away and host an abundance of wildlife including the famous ponies (now back and growing in numbers).
