Highwell House offers good quality, non-smoking Bed and Breakfast accommodation in comfortable and attractively furnished (2) double and (1) twin bedded en-suite rooms. All have colour televisions, tea/coffee/hot chocolate making facilities, hair dryers and fresh flowers from the garden.
The delicious full English Breakfast is served with fresh fruit in season, including strawberries and raspberries from the productive organic kitchen garden, homemade preserves and eggs from our free range hens. It is enjoyed in the conservatory overlooking the croquet lawn, wisteria arch and colourful garden. It is a very good spot for watching a variety of garden birds.
The two acres of garden contain many different flowering trees and shrubs, including over a hundred different camellias. The rhododendrons, azaleas, hardy fuchsias, roses and hydrangeas, together with many bulbs and perennials ensure that there is much to enjoy throughout the year.
There is a path through a half-acre of woodland with far reaching views across the Avon valley to Dartmoor. Our friendly sheep and ponies graze the fields at a good distance from the house. |

Kingsbridge Attractions |

Highwell is well situated for exploring the many attractions of the South Hams. The countryside is ideal for walking, whether through leafy lanes or via the network of footpaths. Nearby is the spectacular South Hams coastline with breathtaking views from the National Trust coastal path. The sandy beaches of Bantham and Thurlestone are two miles away.
There are several National Trust properties to visit including Agatha Christie’s Greenway Garden on the banks of the Dart. The Eden Project is approx. one and a half hours drive and The Garden House approx. one hour.
The picturesque harbour, sailing towns of Dartmouth and Salcombe, and the wild expanses of Dartmoor with its granite tors are all within easy reach. Golf, sailing, surfing, swimming, fishing, riding, windsurfing and painting tuition are also available locally.
There is good pub food in Churchstow, which is an easy level walk and a variety of good restaurants and pubs within 1.5-3miles. It also has a Village Post Office well stocked with provisions and many local specialities and you can get your early morning newspaper. |

| Directions: Churchstow is on the A379, Kingsbridge to Plymouth road, 1 and a half miles from Kingsbridge. Turn opposite the pub, The Church House Inn, Then 1st right following the church wall. Highwell House is on the right.
