Bed and Breakfast Description |

|
OUR HOUSE A beautiful Victorian terraced house, completely renovated using organic paints, reclaimed materials and natural flooring, featuring hand-made reclaimed timber furniture. We are situated in a quiet closed lane over-looking St.Ives Bay, just above lush semi-tropical gardens and ideally placed for all amenities. The town centre and harbour is a 2 minute walk down the hill and all St. Ives' enchanting beaches are within a 10 minute stroll. We have a small experimental organic forest garden growing a variety of edible flowers, fruits and herbs. A south facing terrace captures the whole days sun. And with the only through traffic being that on foot, no noise or pollution! Our house is a friendly and green one. YOUR BEDROOMS We have three lovely centrally heated rooms (two with wash basins), featuring original fireplaces, with tea-making facilities. Guests share a large bathroom with power-shower, bath, toilet; also separate WC. We are keen to accommodate those with children. We can provide a sofa-bed with a supplement for each child under 16 (Room with a View only) and a cot for toddlers. We also have a playpen, toddler toilet seat, books, toys and games & nappy washing facility. Our large lounge / dining room has a comfortable sofa, table and chairs and overlooks the garden and sea through bay windows; a small but comprehensive library with subjects from alternative health to information on local attractions and history. Also TV, music system, or make your own with a guitar and other instruments. A bright and comfortable room for morning and evening.
Room With A View features hand-built drift-wood double bed, wash basin, tea-making facilities and fantastic views accross St. Ives Bay.
Down Stairs Room features a double bed with wash basin and tea-making facilities.
Twin Room features two single beds with basin & tea-making facilities. |

St Ives Attractions |

ST IVES – A CORNISH PARADISE A picturesque town ringed by glorious beaches and a beautiful harbour. An amazing variety of shops amongst narrow cobbled streets will appeal to some, while others will enjoy its close proximity to coast paths and the wild Cornish country-side. Porthmeor, its largest beach, is a prime surfing venue and has won awards for cleanliness. Overlooking the beach is the Tate Gallery, one of scores of galleries around town, a testament to its renowned artistic community. Making Waves is a minutes walk from the Barbara Hepworth sculpture gardens, and only five minutes from the Tate and Porthmeor beach. Other local attractions include ancient Pagan monuments, St.Michaels Mount, Lands End, Seal Sanctuary, or further afield, the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Activities you can busy yourself with are surfing, diving, kite flying (hire and lessons available), or get out and about on a mountain bike. The evenings can be filled visiting restaurants, pubs or night-clubs if you are so inclined. We also have a vibrant live music scene. St.Ives has many quality restaurants and cafes that provide vegan / vegetarian food if you would prefer to eat out – or if we are not cooking. Please ask us for our recommendations and favourite dishes. All corners of town are within easy (but often hilly!) walking distance of Making Waves. |

B&B Location

Follow A30 through Cornwall to St.Erth, then follow signs to St.Ives. When descending into St.Ives from Carbis Bay, turn right at Porthminster Hotel downhill towards the harbour and town centre. Pass the Co-op supermarket, follow to the right at Barclays Bank, then take first left into Market Place opposite Golden Lion pub, immediate left again steep uphill (ignore arrow on the road - you can turn up here!!!), immediate right (very narrow!) and left very steep up Richmond Place. We are 50 metres on the right.
Driver Warning! The local roads get extremely narrow in town, and we only have parking for one car in front of the house, therefore we would recommend using the nearby rail, bus and coach services for your convenience. We also have secure storage for bicycles.
