Quality farmhouse B&B for grown ups. Winer of Westcountry Cooking's Best Farmhouse B&B Award.
After a busy day exploring, return to sit in our sheltered garden or on the terrace with a cup of tea, while you plan tomorrow's day out, stay and have a glass of wine before dinner or just watch the wildlife
Listen to the birdsong and see if you can spot another species to add to the list of over 50 different types seen on the farm so far. Everything from the rare Red Kite to the tiny Firecrest. If you are lucky (and quiet!) enough, you may see the wild deer, both roe and the larger red that live in our valley. Part of the farm has been designated a site of County Importance for rare plants and Culm grassland.
Start the day with a breakfast to suit you.
Whether it's a full Devon breakfast with locally cured bacon, sausages made from Gloucester Old Spot pigs and the freshest of eggs: or maybe you'd prefer something lighter…… yoghurt made with fruits from the garden, or a bowl of fresh picked strawberries.
The bread is home made, and so are the preserves…..Japonica marmalade, cider apple marmalade, even marmalade made from yellow tomatoes! Jams include one made from the Bullace, a hedgerow fruit rather like a small wild plum.
That should set you up for the day!
All our bedrooms are individually furnished, one with a four-poster bed,one brass bed and one king sixed, plus a twin bedded room. Each has its own bathroom ensuite, remote controlled colour TV, tea and coffee trays, a comfy seating area, magazines and many thoughtful extras. Beds are usually made up with duvets, but if you prefer sheets and blankets, please ask at the time of booking. |
