Bed and Breakfast Description
On the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, our bed and breakfast is deep in the quiet Suffolk countryside. Near the Minsmere bird reserve, it is also handy for Aldeburgh, Snape, Southwold, and the beautiful Suffolk coast. We have the one large double room. The south-facing window overlooks the garden. There is a telly with DVD player, not to mention your private shower room. On the side, there’ll be a tray with tea and coffee plus bottled mineral water. Breakfast is served in the dining room. It is Full English, with eggs from our own bantams (hens permitting!), plus a wide range of yummy cereals, and toasty things. We use locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. Suffolk is great for that kind of thing.



Local Attractions
EATING OUT Within a mile, there are great village pubs serving food in Theberton, Eastbridge and Middleton. Aldeburgh has some excellent restaurants and the world’s greatest Fish & Chips. There are many more top notch places to eat in Southwold and aroundabouts. We’d be happy to give you some recommendations. THINGS TO DO For such a quiet part of the world, there’s loads around. Snape Maltings concert hall - home of the world famous Aldeburgh festival - is under 15 minutes drive. The RSPB’s Minsmere Bird Reserve is only a couple of miles away, and there are miles and miles of interesting walks straight out of our front door. Aldeburgh and Southwold have popular beaches, trendy shops with plenty to see and do. Just as close, Framlingham and Orford both have cracking castles and loads of history. We keep an up to date information pack on some of the best local days and nights out in your room.

Directions to Aldeburgh:

From London and the South East:
From the M25, exit at junction 28 onto the A12.
Follow to north of Ipswich and then take the A1094.
Local signposting will take you into Aldeburgh.

From the Midlands:
Take the A14 or join it at the most convenient point.
Follow to Ipswich and pick up the A12 (north).
Directions as from London/South East then apply.

When you have reached Aldeburgh, travel north on the B1122 through Leiston and Theberton and when you see Hawthorn road on your left, you will be approaching us. We are situated on your right hand side.

By Rail:
The closest station is Saxmundham, which is six miles away and only two hours from Liverpool Street.
Taxis can be arranged from the station.
