Bed and Breakfast Description

Welcome to Penrhadw Farm in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Set just outside the unspoilt village of Pontsticill, the farm has spectacular mountain views.

Accommodation is of a high standard. Harris Cottage, which sleeps up to six, is exceptionally spacious and well equipped. Bed and breakfast is offered in the farmhouse – we have single, twin and double rooms.

You can explore the Beacons straight from the front door: our farmland, which guests are welcome to explore, adjoins the open land of the National Park.


There's plenty to see and do within easy reach of Penrhadw Farm. Travel on the Brecon Mountain Railway, visit the spectacular Dan-yr-Ogof caves, or explore Britain's industrial heritage at Blaenavon.

Getting here is easy - and excellent road links make Penrhadw Farm the ideal base for exploring Mid and South Wales.

We have seven cosy bedrooms including singles, twins and doubles. All are equipped to a high standard, with en-suite bath and shower room, tea and coffee tray, television and trouser press.

Also available for the use of residents is our spacious lounge which has a TV and video.

Start your day with our renowned hearty Welsh breakfast. A vegetarian option is also available, and we can cater for special diets.


Out of season Penrhadw Farmhouse can be let as self-catering accommodation. Sleeping up to 12, it's a great place for a family gathering or group holiday

The Brecon Mountain Railway

Travel in one an all-weather observation coach behind a vintage steam locomotive through beautiful scenery. This preserved railway runs the full length of the Taf Fechan Reservoir to Dol-y-Gaer. Visit the workshops where old steam locomotives are repaired, and follow the footpath to a picnic site which has an amazing panoramic view of the valley.

Brecon Beacons National Park

This rugged and mountainous area is unspoilt and teeming with wildlife. It offers plenty of scope for the outdoor enthusiast. With miles of footpaths and bridleways, it's easy to get away from it all on foot, mountain bike or horseback.

Millennium Stadium, Cardiff

Formerly known as Cardiff Arms Park, this modern stadium in central Cardiff (about 45 minutes by road from Pontsticill) is the venue for many major sporting fixtures including international rugby and football, as well as hosting pop concerts and other shows.

Coming along the A465 from East or West or the A470 from North/South, we are situated just outside Merthyr Tydfil near the small village of Pontsticill in the heart of the Breacon Beacons National Park
