Bed and Breakfast Description

Avery House offers clean, friendly guest accommodation at reasonable prices.

We are situated on a regular bus route (308) to Stansted Airport and are within walking distance of the old market town of Bishop's Stortford.

The comfortable accommodation comprises 2 twin ensuite rooms and 1 double room with private bathroom.

Twin Room 1 is a large tastefully furnished room with two single beds and dark oak furniture. It has an ensuite with a toilet, washbasin and a double sized shower cubicle and power shower.

Twin Room 2 is also a large well furnished room with two single beds and Shaker style cream furniture. It has an ensuite with toilet, washbasin and power shower.

The Double Room is a large sunny room with a pine double bed, pine furniture and an original wooden floor. The private bathroom is next door and has a toilet, washbasin and bath with a handheld shower attachment.

All rooms have colour tv/video, coffee/tea making facilities, towels, toiletries and hairdryers. An iron and ironingboard are available on request.

The dining room is where full cooked breakfast is served and overlooks the mature garden. There is also a small conservatory which guests are welcome to use in the warmer months.

Local Attractions
The railway station is also close by which makes us an ideal base for visiting London (35mins), Cambridge (35mins) and Duxford Aircraft Museum.

Local attractions include The Rhodes Arts Complex and museum, Stansted Mountfitchet Norman Castle, Molehall Wildlife Park and Audley End house and gardens. If you wish to go further afield, day trips by local coach have destinations all over the south of England.

Avery House is also convenient for guests visiting Bishop's Stortford College and the Anglo European School.
