Bed and Breakfast Description

Located on the Warwickshire / Leicestershire border just outside Atherstone in the heart of England. Mythe Farm has 5 well appointed bed and breakfast accommodation rooms and a UK Chasers Course (no. 25) which offers superb off road riding with a good variety of cross country jumps.

Mythe Farm bed and breakfast is the perfect place from which to explore the attractions of the midlands, stay for business or simply relax and enjoy the surrounding countryside.

Today Mythe Farm extends to approximately 150 acres and like many farms across the UK, has diversified. We have a flock of approximately 150 sheep, 11 DIY livery stables where the owners of the horses attend them every day, and of course the bed and breakfast. We also operate outdoor activities for groups including Quad Biking, Off Road Rally Karting, Archery, Laser Clay Pigeon Shooting and Team Building Exercises and there is an equestrian cross country course across the farm. If you enjoy fishing you can bring your own tackle and fish for roach, bream, dace, gudgeon, chub, barbel, trout and greyling.

Local Attractions

The ancient market town of Atherstone lies on the old Roman Road, Watling Street (A5) which runs through the centre of the town between Tamworth and Nuneaton. Situated beneath the wooded hills of the historic Merevale Estate, Atherstone dates from medieval times and since the 13th century has held the famous Atherstone Ball Game every Shrove Tuesday.

During the 18th and 19th centuries century Atherstone prospered through mining and the art of hat making which were both important local industries. A current major employer in the town is logistics. Atherstone offers visitors many small friendly shops including several general and specialist bookshops as a result of the reinvention of the town as a book town, and the twice-weekly market takes place in Atherstone market square on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Atherstone, Nuneaton, Tamworth and the surrounding areas offer an array of attractions and things for the visitor to do, from visiting the birthplace of Shakespeare in the south of Warwickshire to exploring the historic homes and sporting attractions of Nuneaton and Bedworth in the north.

From Atherstone, you can access many attractions including:

Shustoke Reservoir
