Bed and Breakfast Description

The secluded position with extensive rural views offers a private retreat if you are looking to get away from it all, or a 'home from home' if you are travelling on business.

With its own drive, parking and entrance; you are free to enjoy your stay in privacy. We are happy to help whenever we can and guarantee a friendly welcome.

The view from the first floor apartment's queen size bed is over open countryside and fields. The perfect place to watch the night sky and sunrise or just get a good peaceful night's sleep.

The lounge area has a leather sofa and chair, TV with Freeview, DVD and CD player with surround sound. A small selection of DVD and CD are available but If you want an evening in, why not bring your own.

The first floor apartment is ideal for the business traveller who prefers a 'home from home' working environment rather than a hotel. The breakfast area provides a comfortable working space for your laptop, broadband connection, plenty of light and lovely rural views. Having the advantage of your own private drive and entrance, you are free to come and go, within reason, in your own time. Special arrangements can be made to suit your requirements.

Local Attractions

Constable country of Dedham, East Bergholt and Flatford are enjoyable places for art lovers.
Ipswich is a wonderful place for shopping and football fans.
Newmarket is famous for its horse racing and nearby in Norwich, Snetterton also has a motor racing circuit.
Visit the University and shops in Cambridge and punt on the Cam.
Colchester, the East Coast with Aldburgh and Snape Maltings is a great place for music lovers.
Felixstowe and Harwich are excellent for scenic coastal walks
Cockfield has 2 pubs with evening menus and is well serviced with eating places in the surrounding villages. Historic Lavenham, just 4 miles away, provides a range of restaurants and pubs for all occasions, for that special romantic evening, to casual and relaxed informal dining.
 

B&B Location

From the A14, leave at Junc. 44 Bury St. Edmunds East. At first roundabout, take exit Bury St. Edmunds/ Sudbury. At next roundabout take 2nd exit (Town centre/Sudbury/Haverhill). At next roundabout take 1st exit A134 (Sudbury). Continue for approx. 5 miles, through Sicklesmere, past 'The Manger' pub in Bradfield Combust. Take next left A1141 (Lavenham/Cockfield). Continue for 1.4 miles, turn left (Cockfield/Stowmarket). Continue for 1.2 miles, over railway bridge, past Post Office (Howe Lane), past triangular green on right leading into Chapel Road. The Old Manse can be found on the right, just past the Congregational Chapel.
