Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Our relaxing holiday destination is situated between the town centre and Eastern Green Beach, convenient for coach and rail stations. We have free parking in the square. We offer a personal service in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Halcyon is a house with character and charm, built around a century ago.

Constructed of Cornish Granite and situated in a private square, it is on the level between the town and beach and convenient for all amenities.

The house has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, tastefully furnished with a high standard of cleanliness. To add to the level of comfort it has full central heating. All bedrooms are fully en-suite with colour TV and complimentary tea & coffee facilities.

Our Guests are given keys on arrival to enable access at all times.

Halcyon has been a family run Guest House for the past 20 years. Resident proprietors Pat & Bob Ayotte offer their personal attention and you are assured of a plentiful breakfast from our menu.

A full Breakfast is served between 8.30 to 9.00 daily.

We offer a personal service in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Penzance Attractions

 
With many beaches and sandy coves nearby for relaxing and swimming, or for the more energetic the wonderfully rugged coastline and coastal walks taking in the breathtaking scenery, antiquities and rolling moors, Halcyon is just 5 minutes away from the coastal footpath and there are many inland walks also for you to enjoy the breathtaking scenery.

Penzance is famous for being one of the sunniest and friendliest of West Country towns and is easily explored on foot. It faces south across Mount's Bay which ensures that the town gets all available sunlight. It boasts many gardens: Morrab Sub-Tropical Gardens, Penlee Park, Bolitho Gardens and the noted gardens at Trengwainton are just a few in the area.

Penzance has the longest promenade in Cornwall and a busy harbour where you can sail away for a day trip to the Isles of Scilly or on pleasure/fishing trips. The town has a wide variety of shops and restaurants, pubs and cafes to suit all tastes. It is an ideal base when exploring the places of interest in the area.

St. Michael's Mount, Mousehole, Lamorna Cove, Land's End, St. lves, Minack open air Theatre and of course the many ancient Celtic antiquities in the area - Merry Maidens, Lanyon Quoit, Men an Tol and Chysauster Ancient Village to name a few - are all within easy reach of Halcyon in Chyandour Square.

Halcyon is ideal for walking as we are 5 minutes away from the coastal footpath and there are many inland walks also for you to enjoy the breathtaking scenery.

Follow the A30 through Cornwall to the Tesco Roundabout on Eastern Green as you approach Penzance,

Use the left lane signed for Penzance Town Centre

Take the second turning on the right.

Immediately turn right again into a private road: we are situated on the left.

Arriving at Halcyon by Train:

Penzance is well served by trains from destinations throughout the mainland with connections from Europe via London. Halcyon is a short distance from the terminus.

Arriving at Halcyon by Coach:

National Express coaches connect Penzance with most mainland destinations. Halcyon is a short distance from the coach station.
