Local Attractions

The Eden Project is only about 1 mile away and many other attractions and gardens are within an easy drive. Enjoy your breakfast whilst looking out over our own lake. There are some very interesting cycle and walking trails that can be used to explore the lovely Luxulyan Valley only a half mile away. The local towns of Mevagissey, Fowey and Charlestown are only a few miles away and offer many attractions to young and old.

The Lost Gardens of Heligan
A old Victorian garden that has been hidden from public eyes for 50 years is a wonder to explore.

Lanhydrock House and Gardens
Once the proud seat of the Robartes family from 1620 to 1969, this extensive house and 900 acres of gardens, parklands and woods is now a real treasure owned by the National Trust and open to the public.

Luxulyan Valley
Only a stones throw away from the guesthouse, and full of local history. There are over 17 circular walks taking in old chapels, some of the Saint's Way path, and engineering architecture including the Treffry Viaduct and leats.

Fowey
This charming town hugs the River Fowey and is virtually unspoilt, no amusement arcardes here, just ancient narrow streets and a heritage dating back to roman times. A few hundred years ago the Spanish, Portuguese and the French used to attempt to raid the town and were driven off by cannon fire from the forts at the entrance to this lovely harbour.

Charlestown
Home to square rigged sailing ships today, as well as the Charlestown Shipwreck Museum, a delight to explore.

The Daphne Du Mariuer Festival of Arts and Literature
This week-long festival celebrates the authors life and her involvement with Fowey, Tywardreath and the surrounding area.
