Bed and Breakfast Description

The fully furnished rooms are suitable whether on a short stay or a long holiday. We have a range of rooms to suit all your needs and requirements. A full varied English Breakfast and Vegetarian Breakfast are available.

Every room is furnished to a high standard, all including Colour Televisions, Radios, Tea & Coffee making facilities, Hairdryer. We can cater for visitors with walking difficulties with an en-suite room on the ground floor with easy access to the breakfast room.

Local Attractions
The Lodge is a five-minute walk from both the City's pleasant traffic free shopping centre and the Barbican. A view over Plymouth Sound, a spectacular natural harbour, is 200 metres away. The Guest house is also less than five minutes walk from the Theatre Royal and Plymouth Pavillions and the Reel cinema. Plymouth University and Coach Station are about 10 minutes walk with the Rail Station a short taxi ride away. Plymouth's International ferry port and Brittany Ferries is less than 5 minutes by car from Athenaeum Lodge Guest House. A round trip via the Cremyl Ferry, a walk to Kingsand/Cawsand through the Cornish countryside and a ferry back to the Barbican makes a great day out.
 

B&B Location
The location of Athenaeum Lodge Guest House is between the city centre and The Hoe. Find The Hoe and you are very close to the Guest House.

The train station is 20 minutes walk or 5 minutes by taxi and the bus station 10 minutes walk and for those travelling to Plymouth with Brittany Ferries the Guest House is less than 5 minutes by car.

Directions By Car

From the A38 follow the Plymouth City Centre signs for 2 3/4 miles, at this point you will need to be in the left hand lane.You will approach a set of traffic lights with a left fork marked "THE BARBICAN-THE HOE-THE SEAFRONT" Take this fork and keep on the road until you come to a set of traffic lights with a pub called THE WALRUS on your left.
Turn Left here, the guest house is at the top of the road, on the right.
