Bed and Breakfast Description

A warm welcome awaits you at Willow Tree Cottage. Set amongst lush rolling countryside in the hamlet of Morwenstow, just north of the beautiful seaside town of Bude. We are surrounded by National Trust land and have a wealth of spectacular scenery right on our doorstep. Small coves, large surfing beaches, craggy rockpools and clifftop walks are just the appetisers.
All this plus a beautiful room and friendly hosts. Come and meet Bob and Vanessa in their cosy inviting home and have a holiday to remember. Bob's breakfasts are outstanding (see guestbook) and local produce is always used where possible. There is a choice of menu that is always discussed with guests beforehand. We are a non smoking house and only guide dogs allowed.

Garden

Small but perfectly formed is how we like to describe our garden. South facing for maximum sunshine, very private and with a shimmering sea view as a backdrop.

Decking leads from the conservatory for sunny garden breakfasts and the rear evalated decking is perfect for a relaxed evening tipple, after a” hard” day on the beach or visiting one of the many local attractions.

Both our rooms are en-suite, individually decorated and luxuriously appointed. They have stunning sea/country views, hospitality trays, cd/clock radio, tv/video with freeview plus internet wireless connection.

Fluffy dressing gowns, towelling mules and complimentary toiletries also await you. The guest snug is furnished with leather settees, an open fire (for winter visitors) and a wealth of books and games. Guests may also make use of the cd/hifi if they wish. It is here that you will be welcomed with a pot of tea or coffee and homemade cake on arrival.

Cot & high-chair are available for our younger guests.

Local Attractions

Situated just a mile from the Devon border, we have the best of both counties. We have surfing in beautiful Bude. The spectacular Hartland Peninsula is only ten minutes away where its treacherous rocks still bear the scars of shipwrecks from the frequent smugglers, whose history can be seen in the shipwreck museum.

The timeless village of Clovelly is nearby and Bideford Pannier Market, set in buildings dating from the 17th Century. Lundy Island with its puffins, smugglers cave, seals and black rabbits is a boat ride away.

We have the world's largest and most famous living honeybee exibition.

Of course there is also quad-biking, karting, paintball, golf, horse riding and fishing. Or be different and visit the “Big Sheep Show”. Here you can watch and participate in sheep-shearing, duck trials, horse whispering and sheep racing.

So much to do, so little time. You will want to return again and again. In fact, Bude Tourist Office has over 100sq feet of leaflets and information devoted to local attractions.
