Our friendly, family run hotel award winning freehouse inn is superbly located overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It is a perfect place for exploring the beautiful Cornish coast.

The unrivalled, far reaching views of Widemouth Bay and its glorious sandy beaches and rolling surf will take your breath away as you gaze out to sea from our superb Beach Hut restaurant.

All our rooms are sumptuously comfortable and tastefully decorated and have been awarded 4 diamond rating from the English Tourist Council.

Enjoy the fabulous array of local produce used to create our menu. Each dish is cooked to perfection by our award winning team and can be served to you Al fresco on the fabulous deck overlooking the bay, or in the atmospheric bar or light and airy restaurant.

You will love the fresh sea air and exhilarating coastal walks right from the doorstep, or maybe a paddle in the clear waters at Widemouth Bay beach is just what you need.

Our fresh, contemporary, ETC 4 diamond rated rooms are all of the highest standard with crisp white linen and en suite bathing.

Local Attractions
Cornwall has always been a popular place for family holidays and it is true to say that it still holds as much romance and imagination as it ever did.

Most people know the Myths and Legends of Cornwall and we have our fair share here. With Tintagel Castle, (reputedly the home of King Arthur and Merlin), Stratton (home of the last Cornish giant, Anthony Payne, over 7 feet tall), "Jamaica Inn" (made famous by Dame Daphne Du Maurier) are all nearby.

The "South West Way" coastal path passes our door, which is Britain's longest footpath of 613 miles. Probably more than a day's walk, but is usually split up into smaller sections! Also the new "Sustrans National Cycle Network" has now been extended to take in Bude & Widemouth Bay.
 

B&B Location
At Exeter South side, keep left and filter off left onto A30 (signposted towards Okehampton)

Follow A30 for about 20 miles (Do not turn off at any junction signposted "Bude" unless you wish to follow the tourist route (Bad move!))

When you have by-passed Launceston (about 2 miles further on) you will see a slip road on the left signposted to " NORTH CORNWALL". This junction is called "KENNARD'S HOUSE" (Trethorne leisure Farm is on your Right) Slip off and head North West on the A 395 for about 5 miles following " North Cornwall" signposts

When you get to Hallworthy (Wilsey Down Pub on right) take the B3262 (second road on right) for about 2 miles

At the "T" junction turn right (North East) onto A39 for 10 miles (passing through Otterham Station & Poundstock)

Turn left on to the road signposted " Widemouth Bay, Bude Coastal route"

When you get to the sea, keep it on your left and go through Widemouth Village (Don't blink it's only small) and we are on the right hand side just past the Beach House Post Office and Stores.
