The inn has been here since 1742 when a certain George Holme opened it as an alehouse called the 'Blacksmith's Arms', but it was renamed the 'Church Inn' in 1884.
We offer Bed and Breakfast accommodation for up to six people, well located for visits to nearby Buxton or for exploring the Peak District, and we serve tasty meals from a varied menu at lunch times and in the evenings.
Finally of course we have a warm, welcoming and homely bar, with an excellent range of beers, wines and spirits. We have been in the CAMRA 'Good Beer Guide' for the last 5 years.
At the Church Inn we can offer Bed and Breakfast accommodation for up to eight people, accredited to 4 diamond standard by the English Tourism Council. We are centrally located for exploring the Peak District and north Derbyshire and are almost equidistant between Buxton (4 miles) and Bakewell (6 miles) - both are easily reached by car or bus.
We have three double bedrooms and one twin bedroom which is equipped with two single beds. All are newly fitted out and tastefully furnished with pine furniture, and all have an en-suite shower room equipped with toilet, washbasin and shower. All rooms have colour televisions and tea and coffee making facilities.
Breakfast is served in a dedicated guests' breakfast room, where we offer both English and Continental Breakfasts, using local ingredients wherever possible.
The accommodation is in a separate annex, not located above the pub, and outside there is a small sheltered patio for guests' use - a lovely spot to sit and relax on a warm summer's evening. There is off-street car parking located behind the Church Inn. |
