Bed and Breakfast Description
The Old School House is situated in the picturesque and quiet village of Bonsall, just on the border of the Peak District. The cottage garden offers a splash of colour throughout the summer season. A friendly welcome and a good breakfast is assured. Full English breakfast is served to your individual choice, including home made bread. Vegetarians catered for. Visitors have use of a lounge, decorated in a style that complements the age of the building, using many of the paintings created by Lydia. There is a TV provided in the lounge. Accommodation is a double en-suite room with shower, radio, tea and coffee making facilities.



Local Attractions
The Old School House is in the centre of Bonsall, a small village nestling in the hills above Matlock Bath. There are wonderful walks all around and Bonsall offers the peace and tranquillity of a small village - yet is on the doorstep to outstanding scenery and many of Derbyshire and the Peak District attractions. Village amenities include two pubs. The Barley Mow at the top of The Dale, has its own website and is well known for UFO sightings, Friday night music evening, food and organised walks. The Kings Head does good food and has a quiz night on a Sunday evening. Both pubs provide live music on a Saturday evening. Next to the Kings Head is a cafe, The Queens Head, which is open most days and welcomes walkers. The village recreatiion ground is close by, used for village events such as the Carnival and well-dressing (last week in July). Visitors are welcome to join in any village hall activities and there is a regular luncheon club and film club.

From Derby on A6, turn left at traffic lights into Cromford.

From Matlock on A6, turn right at traffic lights into Cromford

After 200m, turn right onto A5012 to Newhaven.

After 1 mile turn right to Bonsall

At the second turning on the left, by the park, there is a monument at the road junction. The Old School House is just to the left of the Village Hall, on the corner of this junction.

The nearest railway station is at Cromford. There is an hourly bus service from Matlock, via Cromford.
