Bed and Breakfast Description

We offer a warm welcome in comfortable surroundings. We have recently undergone a major refurbishment, but still retaining traditional features. Relax on our leather settees, or dine in front of our open log fires during the winter months.

We are located in the centre of the village of Castleton with fine views of Mam Tor and Peveril Castle. This makes us an ideal base for exploring the many different attractions the Peak District has to offer.

We have 5 extremely comfortable bedrooms, all with en-suite shower, TV, hair dryer, tea & coffee making facilities. Each room enjoys the beautiful views that surround the hotel. Your stay with us includes a hearty full English breakfast.

Enjoy your food and drink overlooked by the magnificent Peveril Castle, Winnats Pass, Mam Tor and Losehill Tor. The majority of our food is locally sourced, and prepared by our chefs.

Local Attractions
Situated in the beautiful Hope Valley, we are surrounded by some of the most breathtaking natural views in the whole of the UK. This makes us an ideal base for exploring the many different attractions the Peak District has to offer.

We are located in the centre of the village of Castleton with fine views of Mam Tor and Peveril Castle, which overlooks the village of Castleton. The four major caverns of the area - Peak Cavern, Speedwell Cavern, Treak Cliff mine and Blue John Mine - which are major tourist attractions, are all within walking distance.

Castleton is the ONLY source of the famous 'Blue John' stone, which is sold at several outlets in the village. There is also a small museum devoted to this stone - the 'Ollerenshaw Collection'.

The Hotel is a natural haven for anyone doing a walking holiday. From the doorstep it is a fine walk up Mam Tor, the 'Shivering Mountain', which overlooks the end of the Hope Valley.

Or you could walk over Hollins Cross to the nearby Edale Valley, or make a circuit over the low hills of Back Tor and Lose Hill. In fact, there are magnificent walks in every direction, with long and short walks starting from Castleton or nearby Edale, which is a five minute drive away.
