Situated in the heart of Alnwick, Prudhoe Croft is within a few minutes walk of shops, restaurants and attractions such as Alnwick Castle, The Alnwick Garden and Barter Books. Although so central, we are in a quiet location with a peaceful south facing garden to relax in - weather permitting! We also have off street parking.
After a busy day sight seeing, there is plenty of space to relax in the guests’ lounge/ dining room or in the garden before taking a leisurely stroll to the restaurants in town.
Prudhoe Croft was established as Bed and Breakfast in 2006. The house may be new to the business but Liz, the proprietor, brings a wealth of experience from running a very successful bed and breakfast in Ford village, near Berwick upon Tweed, where she achieved the 4 diamond and silver award status.
This year, 2008, we have also been awarded a silver grading by the Green Business Tourism Scheme, reflecting the importance of sustainability issues to us.
We have upgraded Prudhoe Croft to a high standard with new en suite bathrooms to the guest rooms, while retaining the character of the Victorian era.
The main part of the house was built in 1850 and further rooms added early in the 1900s. The half landing above is the link between the two parts of the house and overlooks the south facing garden.
Choose from our extensive breakfast menu. We use local produce, sourced from farmers’ markets along with local grocers and butchers.
We have two guest bedrooms, both with en suite bathrooms
Each room has TV with teletext and remote control, clock radio, hairdryer and hospitality tray which includes a selection of herbal teas as well as coffee, hot chocolate and horlicks.
For those cooler nights there are warm blankets and hot water bottles!
The en suite bathrooms also have complementary toiletries. |
