Bed and Breakfast Description

Old Bewick Farmhouse is a Grade II listed building situated in the unspoilt Beautiful countryside of North Northumberland. The imposing Georgian farmhouse was built around 1800 and has amazing panoramic views of the Cheviot Hills and Breamish Valley.

If you are looking to visit the wonderful area of North Northumberland, Old Bewick Farmhouse is ideally situated 15 minutes drive from the historic town of Alnwick and 10 minutes drive from the ancient market town and parish of Wooler. We are located within easy reach of the Heritage Coast, Northumberland National park, and many other historical attractions.

Our aim is to create a warm and welcoming environment in which you can enjoy your stay at Old Bewick Farmhouse. We have designed the rooms to ensure maximum comfort and quality. All rooms have excellent facilities such as, Sky TV, DVD, Tea & coffee tray, hairdryer and iron. We provide quality linen, towels, toiletries and some of those little extras you may have forgotten to pack!

The Tweed Family/Best Friend suite is ideal for visitors with children or friends travelling together. The suite comprising a large double room with an adjoining door to a twin room, leading to en-suite bathroom equipped with a sink, WC, bath and shower over. We welcome children and also provide a travel cot and high chair for your convenience. In addition to the sleeping areas there is a large sitting room with sofas, TV and a collection of local history books, maps and walking guides.

The Breamish double room is comfortably furnished and spacious. There is a double sofa ideally positioned to look out over the amazing countryside views towards Alnwick or to relax and watch TV after a day of exhilarating walks. The room has a large private bathroom next door with a separate shower cubical, bath, WC, sink and again, some wonderful views.

Local Attractions

Northumberland is a stunning region of country walks and picturesque coastline. It is a historic area of castles and magnificent gardens with heritage around every corner. There is an abundance of attractions to suit all tastes and age groups.

Alnwick
The historic town of Alnwick was voted the best place to live in the UK by Country Life magazine and with good reason.

With its unique history, its Castle (made famous in the Harry Potter films) and the renowned Alnwick Garden, it has much to offer the visitor, resident or business alike.

Wooler
Situated only 6 miles east from the foot of Cheviot is the town of Wooler, an ancient market town and parish. It is 46 miles north-northwest of Newcastle and only 16 miles from Berwick, in Glendale, well known for its picturesque scenery of rolling hills and glens.

Rothbury & Coquetdale
Rothbury is a picturesque historic small town with many facilities and the majestic Cragside House , once home of famous industrialist William, Lord Armstrong, close by.

Rothbury is also close to Wallington Hall, Alnwick Castle, Alnwick Gardens and the Northumberland National Park.

Coquetdale in Alnwick District, Northumberland, is a Walking Paradise. Explore the high peaks of the Cheviot Hills and the valleys of the River Coquet in this unspoilt region of spectacular landscapes.

The North East of England has many attractions and places of interest to visit. Northumberland is a great base to visit many of them either by rail or car, if you are in the region for a few days why not visit:

For guests wishing to travel by car, Old Bewick has good access links to both of the regions main roads, the A1 and A697. The nearest train station is Alnmouth for Alnwick which has regular train services provided by Virgin Trains and GNER.
