If you’re planning a visit to the Isle of Man, imagine waking up to the warm hospitality of Albany House where comfort, cleanliness and privacy are waiting to envelop you.

Behind the red bricks of this wonderful Victorian terrace home is a safe haven for holidaymakers or business visitors alike. Its three guest suites all have modern, private facilities.

It gets better. Albany House sits imperially above the majestic promenade of the ancient city of Peel famous for its long, lingering summer sunsets, golden sands, historic castle and fishing history. It was practically the kipper smoking capital of the world.

Peel – and therefore Albany House Bed and Breakfast – makes the perfect base from which to explore and enjoy the unique delights and mysteries of Manxland. It is well-serviced by regular buses and taxis, and opposite the house is a safe and secure car park.

Sleep in historical surrounds. Just walking into this delightful and spacious room, with its high ceilings and chandelier, evokes images of an elegant bygone era. The Fraser is a delightful sunny room with large bay window at the front of the house enjoying views to the castle and the sea. Guests can enjoy this charming room as either twin or double, an additional bed can accommodate a third adult or child, either as all singles or as single and double.

Local Attractions

WALKING - If you’re looking for somewhere to walk then no better place than the Isle of Man. It has remained unchanged for hundreds of years, unspoilt beaches and rare flora and fauna are all here in abundance, discover the Island on well maintained, safe foot paths. We have several walking guide books at Albany House, which you are welcome to borrow and a packed lunch can be made up for you.

GOLFING - The Island is blessed with nine golf courses, eight of which are affiliated to the Isle of Man Golf Union. The Peel course is just a 5 minute walk from Albany House. All the courses are located in areas of stunning views and scenery. Nigel plays mostly in the North of the Island at Glen Truan Golf Links and Ramsey Golf Club, between us we’ve friends who play all over the Island so we have plenty of local insider knowledge if required!!

FISHING - The Island offers River Fishing, Reservoir Fishing and Sea Water Fishing. Peel breakwater and around behind the castle offers a local relaxing spots. Licences are required and can be purchased from any local post office. Fishing Seasons – River is April to September and Reservoir Fishing is March to October.

CYCLING AND MOUNTAIN BIKING - The tourist board have a helpful guide detailing six cycling trails through the Island’s dramatic countryside for you to explore. The trails vary in difficulty giving plenty of opportunity for all levels of capability. Albany House offers secure garaging for your bikes, hose pipe available for cleaning those muddy wheels.

SEA KAYAKING - This is becoming a popular sport now on the Island.

Directions from Douglas:
Coming along the main road across the Island, through St John's, as you come into Peel you will pass the QEII School on your right; the house is about half a mile from here; turn right onto Albany Road. Towards the end of the road on your right you will see a terrace of red brick Victorian three storey town houses. Albany House, No. 9, is the last of the terrace, opposite the telephone exchange. Parking is available by turning left at the end of Albany Road and then first left again.
