Description

Prior’s Yeat is an elegant Edwardian home of character set in the peaceful historic village of Cartmel 4 miles from Lake Windermere and only 2½ miles from Grange-over-Sands on the Cumbrian coast.

Comfortably furnished rooms, peaceful, relaxed and friendly.

We have 3 double en-suite rooms and 1 twin with private facilities all of which are fully equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, television with DVD, radio alarm and hairdryer.

We offer a choice of freshly cooked breakfasts with vegetarian options available and packed lunches can be ordered the day before they are required at an additional cost.

We can provide secure storage for bikes.

Local Attractions

Cartmel is famous for two things: firstly the 12th Century Priory and secondly for delicious sticky toffee pudding, which is a must.

The Priory stands in the centre of the village and is used for normal Sunday services. It has a wealth of history and guided tours are available on Wednesdays. The sticky toffee puddings are made locally and sold in the “Old Post Office” Village Shop that caters for the more discerning tastes.

The village also offers 4 cosy pubs, a range of good quality gift shops, a wonderful delicatessen and tearooms.

The surrounding area offers many interesting and diverse places to visit. We have a selection of brochures available to whet your appetite. There are also many local walks for all abilities and we will be happy to provide reference books and the benefit of our own knowledge to set you on your way.

This is an ideal base for touring the South Lakes, Furness Peninsula and the Yorkshire Dales and it will be of interest to walkers that Prior’s Yeat is on the Furness Way – a popular Cumbrian walking route.
