BNB is a Working Farm

Description

Lower Clopton sits beneath Meon Hill on the B4632, between Stratford-upon-Avon (6 miles) and Chipping Campden (4 miles), with only 25 residents living on 2 working farms and a hand-full of houses.

Clopton Orchard Farm is a family-run working farm; we farm arable crops such as wheat, oil seed rape and barley. We have 600 sheep and lambing starts at the beginning of February but we also have an assortment of other animals; cats, dogs, geese, horses and chickens.

The house was built in 2001 and we have now converted the upstairs into bedrooms (spacious double & twin rooms) for our guests, with views looking out over the farm and Meon Hill.

Traditionally decorated rooms with en-suite bathrooms and many extras such as television, hairdryers comfortable sitting chairs, fresh flowers, radio alarm, complimentary tray and fresh towels daily.

Breakfast using only fresh local produce and fresh eggs laid by our own hens is served in our warmly decorated breakfast room with views looking out over the surrounding countryside.

An outdoor seating area at the front of the house is available for guests to use to enjoy a pot of tea or coffee, what better a way to relax after a busy day touring the cotswolds.

Milk and baby food may be kept in our fridge or a cool bag available from the kitchen Pets are welcome by prior arrangement, but sadly we are unable to accomodate them in the bedrooms.

Local Attractions

The nearest villages are Mickleton and Lower Quinton. Mickleton has very good facilities a great shop stocking most things you might need, a post office, two great eating places The Three Ways Hotel, serving wonderful food famous throughout the world for 'The Pudding Club' and The Kings Arms serving fantastic food and wine, which comes highly recommended (although it is advisable to book in advance, especially at the weekends as it is very popular)

Lower Quinton has a post office, a Chinese takeaway, The College Arms serving good pub food and the Barn Antiques centre, which is a great place to pick up a special something. There are also two farm shops nearby selling local meat, cheeses, cakes, seasonal fruit and vegetables.

Above Mickleton on Bakers Hill are Kiftsgate House and Hidcote Manor, a National Trust property with a garden centre and in the summer, 'Maize Maze' great entertainment for the children. Also only a short journey away are the beautiful Cotswold villages of Broadway, Chipping Campden, Snowshill, Stow on the Wold and the Shakespeare country towns of Stratford-upon-Avon; the birth place of William Shakespeare, Warwick and Royal Leamington Spa.
