Our establishment is fitted with central heating throughout. All or some rooms have ensuite facilities. Garden and/or patio area for guests Hairdryers are available in rooms or on request. We're sorry, we do not accept pets. We have on-site parking.

Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Set just off the road leading to the lake, Ravenscroft provides a quiet yet central place to stay whilst visiting the beautiful English Lake District.

The pretty village of Windermere is just a five-minute walk away and the busier village of Bowness is a ten-minute walk where you will find a vast assortment of cafés, restaurants and bars.

The guest house has been lovingly refurbished by Jackie and Steve with a great deal of thought given to the small personal touches.All the bedrooms are individually decorated with tastefully chosen soft furnishings.

The atmosphere here at Ravenscroft is very relaxed and homely.It is an elegant place to stay and yet is very friendly and informal.We really want our guests to leave feeling chilled out and happy!

All the bedrooms have recently refurbished to a very high standard and all have televisions, tea and coffee making facilities and hairdryers.

Breakfast is a treat at Ravenscroft (Served between 8.30am - 9.00am)

Your day will start with one of our famous breakfasts. A selection of cereals, fruits, fresh fruit salad and sometimes homemade scones or muffins!

Our English breakfast is not for the feint-hearted. All the products used are from local suppliers and consists of eggs, bacon, sausages, mushrooms sautéed in butter, roasted tomatoes and potato cakes or fried bread depending on what Jackie has cooked that day.

The lounge at Ravenscroft is very comfortable.
Guests are welcome to use it at any time and if you fancy a quiet night in then just snuggle up on the leather armchair and pass the time reading, watching the television or whatever you want.
In the winter we have a roaring log-fire that you'll find very hard to tear yourself away from.

The Deli is a family run business set in the heart of the busy resort of Bowness-on-Windermere. We pride ourselves in preparing home-cooked foods using the freshest and finest ingredients. We also offer an outside catering service in which we aim to cater for all your requirements when arranging your day.

Butterworths Delicatessen was entered in the Rough Guides to the Lake District: "The deli sells gourmet treats and local produce. It dispenses hot baguettes sandwiches and other takeaway delights."

Leave the M6 at Junction 36 to join the A590 to Kendal
Join the A591 (Kendal bypass) to Windermere

From Windermere Village
On the A591 (from Kendal) turn left down into the village
Follow the one way system through Windermere
Exit Windermere village taking the New Road towards Bowness and the lake

Travelling down the hill the road flattens out into a long right-hand bend, with park, railings and clock tower on your left.
Turn immediately left (hair-pin) around the clock tower and stop. Ravenscroft Bed & Breakfast is directly on your right.
