Description

Enjoy a relaxing break in one of England’s most picturesque villages. Poppy Bank B&B, situated just a 5 minute stroll from the historic centre of beautiful Chipping Campden, guarantees a warm welcome and a friendly stay in comfortable, spacious accommodation.

A charming Cotswold stone house built in the ‘arts and crafts’ tradition, Poppy Bank is the home of June and Eric Britton. It is set in tranquil countryside, looking out over rolling wooded hills and open fields – a classic north Cotswold setting in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Cross the road and a path takes you directly onto the Cotswold Way, one of Britain’s best-loved long-distance footpaths. Stroll into the village and enjoy what has been described as ‘the finest high street in England’ with restaurants, antique shops – and some fantastic pubs!

Poppy Bank is also an ideal base for exploring further afield - perfectly located for touring the Cotswolds villages of Broadway, Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water and the Slaughters, and for visiting Shakespeare country, Warwick Castle and Blenheim Palace.

Time of arrival is flexible - normally from around 3pm and by prior arrangement on Tuesdays.

Both guest bedrooms are furnished with comfort and relaxation in mind. There is ample seating, including a large couch in each room, and plenty of space to spread out. Should you tire of the wonderful local restaurants and pubs, you may even feel tempted to spend an evening in with a good book and glass of wine (bottle opener and glasses provided) – or watch a movie from our selection of DVDs. All guests also have FREE Wireless Internet access in all rooms and the garden.

We pride ourselves on providing a warm and friendly atmosphere where you can relax and just be yourself. A separate guest dining room with separate tables ensures that breakfast time is pressure-free for our guests.

Local Attractions

So much to see, so little time! Two or three nights at Poppy Bank will give you the opportunity to visit some of the most popular places in the north Cotswolds, Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick. Visitors staying a little longer frequently visit Blenheim Palace, Oxford, Bath and the Welsh Borders.
