Bed and Breakfast Description

The Storehouse is a place to stay with a difference. In the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park it is relaxed, easy going and stress-free.

I've set out to make The Old Storehouse a stylish but cosy place where guests can feel entirely at home whilst winding down to the steady pace of country living.

The house, a former canal storehouse, has been sensitively restored featuring exposed beams, oak floors and a woodburner

Relax and unwind in our peaceful garden which runs down to the canal. We also have plenty of car parking space.

We believe that breakfast should be leisurely and comfortable. We have one large table where guests can relax, enjoy the morning papers and plan their day and we use nothing but the the best ingredients, locally sourced.

We are a dog friendly zone although there is a small supplement for your four-legged friends.

Located on the edge of the picturesque village of Pencelli at the foot of the Brecon Beacons, 3 miles from the market town of Brecon. We are situated in tranquil, secluded countryside with outstanding views of the Brecon Beacons.

Easy access to the mountains and up to Pen-y-fan, the highest peak in the Beacons makes this an ideal location for walkers.

We have three rooms, all doubles and en-suite. We have aimed to make the rooms comfortable and stylish without being overly fussy. Each room has a wonderful view across the surrounding countryside.

Local Attractions

The Brecon Beacons

The Brecon Beacons National Park contains some of the most spectacular and distinctive upland formations in southern Britain. Situated amongst hills and mountains, the area stretches from Hay on Wye in the east to Llandeilo in the west, and incorporates moorland, forests, valleys, waterfalls, lakes, caves and gorges.
Culture and Activities

The annual Brecon Jazz Festival held in the town during August and nearby Hay-on-Wye is well known for its second hand book shops.

Local attractions include the Dolaucothi Gold Mines, Dan yr Ogof show caves and the Blaen-y-Glyn, Caerfanell Waterfalls.

For the more energetic how about a cruise along the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal, Pony Trekking, hill walking, sailing, canoeing on the River Wye or cycling the Taff Trail from Brecon to Merthyr Tydfil.
Local Restaurants

The local area is well served in terms of restaurants. One of my favourites is the The Felin Fach Griffin Inn. Les Routiers accredited, award winning restaurant and pub.
