Description

Since 1985 we have been providing a warm and comfortable welcome in our two star family run hotel. We believe in treating our customers as friends and making every effort possible to make your stay relaxed and enjoyable.

Jill and Roger, the owners, have been in the trade for many years (more than they'll admit to) and believe a warm traditional atmosphere is far more important than clean plastered walls. If you're after a 'yes sir - no sir' service with everything white and gleam, then we're not the place for you.

With the hotel building now well over 100 years old, all of our bedrooms come in many different sizes and shapes. Altogether we have 19 en suite bedrooms that reflect our setting and friendly environment. Wi-Fi is available in all rooms and free of charge. If you don't have the luxury of a laptop, then not to worry as all of the rooms have a free terminal PC in them, that will allow you to surf the web and check your web mail.

The hotel offers an F1 themed bar, our club bar, restaurant, lounge, South facing gardens and patio, pool table / games room and free Wi-Fi (as it should be).

Local Attractions

We're situated in the well known area of Boars Hill, located approximately 4 miles from both Oxford and Abingdon city centres.

If you enjoy walking in woods or open fields then you'll love our positioning. With plenty of woods to explore and miles of footpaths and bridle paths, there's always something different around every corner. A link for the local map is located at the bottom of this page.

Oxford is renowned for it's University of Dreaming Spires. From the old golf course of Boars hill, only a 5 minute walk from us, there's a perfect view of it all. Oxford has plenty to do and see, for the latest and most update information then please visit www.dailyinfo.co.uk.

Abingdon is one of England's oldest towns and it also home to the MG Car Club HQ and famous for being the place where the MG was originally designed and made. Right on the river with plenty of old bars to sample some local ales and beers.

The Cotswolds are also just a short drive away and if you're after history and typical English charm then you'll be pleasantly surprised. Many Michelin stared restaurants will be found, along with historical places of interest such as Blenheim Palace and Bourton on the Water.
