Bed and Breakfast Description

 

The recently refurbished rooms are to a high standard of comfort with luxury beds and bedding with up to the minute technology of flat screen TV with freeview, DVD/CD player, internet access and telephones in each room.

Beautiful toiletries from Gilchrist and Soames and soft dressing gowns to soothe away the stresses and strains of the everyday world are provided in every room.

Enjoy excellent breakfasts with local food from the village and surrounding farms.

A stroll round the gardens or a walk along one of our farm walks, relax by the river either fishing or just watching the day go by or simply reading a booking in the Drawing Room in peace and quiet.

We manage a 720 acre farm comprising arable and livestock enterprise as well as a number of diversification businesses. We were offered a High Level Stewardship Agreement in November 2006 which will further enhance the biodiversity to be found in our hedgerows, river valley and meadows.

Our unique herd of pedigree rare breed White Park Cattle graze the species rich permanent pastures, producing succulent, tender beef which is available to purchase on the farm.

It was, in fact, a joint of White Park beef which King Richard III famously knighted.

The village shops offer a very diverse choice from the General Stores and Post Office to Cook's of Swanton Chocolate Shop. The Mill Bakery and SM Butchers ensure that we have the very best choice of provisions together with Pubs offering both good ales and good food.
