Bed and Breakfast Description

Built in 1864 on land donated by Thomas James Agar-Robartes, the owner and 1st Baron of Lanhydrock, the house was designed by George Edmund Street, an eminent architect of his day, who had strong connections with the Pre-Raphaelite brotherhood and designed the Law Courts in the Strand, London as well as Gothic style churches throughout Europe.
Book any of our double, twin and family cottages on a bed & breakfast basis and you can relax in a suite of accommodation, combining the benefits of having a sitting room and kitchen area within the accommodation, with the luxury of enjoying a leisurely breakfast each day served in the main house breakfast room.
Breakfast includes a wide range of fruits, yoghurts and cereals followed by a selection from our traditional english breakfast menu, all cooked to order.
Daily room service with fresh towels each day is included in the price.
Peregrine Hall Facilities : Outdoor swimming pool (May - Sept), Hot Tub, sauna, games room, laundry room, BBQ & picnic areas, off road parking, gardens & grounds with superb views.
Guests can enjoy the 10 acres of gardens and grounds which blend floral interest and colour with superb views and the tranquillity of the Cornish countryside.
Spend lazy days in and around the swimming pool or relaxing on the south facing terrace. End the day with a barbecue whilst watching the sun set. |

Peregrine Hall is well located for visiting all parts of Cornwall. Some of the finest beaches are only 30 minutes drive, famous gardens Including Lanhydrock and Heligan are close by. Penzance, Mount's Bay, St. Ives, Land's End, Newquay, Port Isaac and Tintagel are all around one hours traveling time from our South East Cornwall location.
The Eden Project, the largest indoor ecological project in the world, sitting deep within an old Cornish China Clay pit is only 6 miles away and further west the 'Lost Gardens of Heligan' wait to be found . Golf, sailing and walking are all enjoyed by using Peregrine Hall as a base.
The fabulous National Trust House and gardens of Lanhydrock are just a short distance away, featuring a stunning display of magnolias and Rhododendron at the start of the season. Mount Edgcumbe with its hundreds of acres of landscaped gardens overlooking Plymouth Sound and Cawsand Bay will appeal to you, your children and your pets.
The many attractions of the city of Plymouth, Dartmoor and the county of Devon, are just a short drive from Peregrine Hall. The historic city of Plymouth invites you to wander the narrow Elizabethan streets of the Barbican, the Mayflower steps and the Hoe; enjoy the best of live theatre at the Theatre Royal and be amazed at the National Marine Aquarium. Explore the Post Modern city centre or take a leisurely boat trip around the Sound or the operational naval base. |

Leave M5 at junction 31 the A30 signposted to Oakhampton
Exit A30 at Bodmin signposted Bodmin, Liskeard and Lostwithiel
For a short while follow A38 and signs to Lostwithiel (B3268)The signposts will also say Lanhydrock
Take a right turn off the A38 towards Lostwithiel you are now on the B3268.
When you reach the village of Sweetshouse, take a left fork, still following the B3268 signposted Lostwithiel until you reach the A390.
Turn left and follow the A390 through Lostwithiel. This takes you over the river and begins to climb a steep hill out of the town.
Towards the top of the hill you will see a sign for a school on the left,As you reach the school you will see a signpost to Polscoe, turn left towards Polscoe, the school will now be on your left.
After 100 metres and as the school grounds end, the entrance to Peregrine Hall driveway is on the left. A slate nameplate is on a small white wall.
Follow the driveway, passing a cottage on the right, and enter the car park. Walk around to the front of the main building where you will see a conservatory. Ring the doorbell to the right of the conservatory door and we will be there to greet you.
