Description

Tremaine Farm is a 300 acre working family farm set in beautiful Cornish countryside in South East Cornwall. The quaint farmhouse maintains its charming character of exposed beamed ceilings, inglenook fireplace and thick cob walls. The farmhouse is complemented by the peaceful mature gardens, which encourage a host of birds and wildlife for you to enjoy.

Robbie the collie sheepdog is always on hand to greet the guests if he is not out tending to the flock of 400 Mules and Suffolk Cross ewes which graze the green pastures. As well as the sheep, we grow cereals and potatoes and depending on when you stay you may be able to experience the tractors and combine harvester in action at harvest time.

The footpath that links the villages of Pelynt and Lanreath runs right through the farm. Many guests have enjoyed an evening stroll across the farmland admiring the breathtaking panoramic views and spectacular sunsets. Both villages have places of interest as well as traditional Cornish pubs with restaurants providing local, freshly prepared meals. There is an abundance of excellent local restaurants only a short drive away in Looe, Polperro and Fowey.

The spacious family suite comprises of a king sized double room with adjoining twin room both furnished with beautiful Victorian beds.

Awaken your senses in the en-suite with the deluxe power shower with rain bars.

The family suite accommodates the whole family, providing privacy to parents as well as a safe environment for children.

Tremaine Farm is the perfect location for all your holiday requirements when visiting Cornwall. The local idyllic harbours of Looe, Polperro & Polruan are each within a 5 miles radius and Fowey which is renowned for its Daphne Du Maurier links, is only 5 minutes away across the river from the village of Bodinnick. The plentiful country and coastal walks, take you to the scenic cliff tops, stunning Cornish coves & beauty spots. The north coast provides superb surfing as well as wide spacious sandy beaches. The Camel Trail, a disused and resurfaced railway line, runs from Padstow to Poleys Bridge. Following the route of the river Camel, which you can walk, cycle, ride horses or just sit and watch the abundant wild life.

The Eden Project is already being called the 8th wonder of the world. Experience the sights, smells and sheer scale of the rainforest in the Humid Tropics Biome. The Lost Gardens of Heligan, were rediscovered in 1990 after being left to sleep for over 70 years. National Trust Houses in the local area include Lanhydrock, Cotehele and Antony. Mount Edgcumbe House & Gardens are set across the river from Plymouth providing outstanding views of the sea and Tamar estuary. St Michael's Mount castle is set on an island a few hundred metres off-shore from Marazion and is one of Cornwall's treasures. For the golf enthusiasts there is abundance of golf courses in Cornwall for you to choose from. Perhaps you are looking for a fun day out at Flambards Theme Park or Wheal Martyn China Clay Country Park both great days out for families of all ages.

Ø At Exeter take the A38 to Plymouth,

Ø Cross the Tamar Bridge into Cornwall,

Ø Through the Saltash tunnel.

Ø At Trerulefoot roundabout take the 1st Exit towards Torpoint and Looe (A374)

Ø Continue along the A374 for a mile then take the A387 to Looe. .

Ø Go through Looe and after 2 miles turn right onto B3359 signposted Pelynt.

Ø Continue through the village of Pelynt.

Ø After 1 mile turn left at the crossroads off the B3359, signposted Tremaine.

Ø Tremaine Farm is the first farm on the right.
