Bed and Breakfast Description

Our home is south-facing and situated in a beautiful and unspoilt part of the River Fowey Valley, about a mile from the historical stannary town of Lostwithiel, also regarded as the 'antiques capital' of Cornwall.

Ideally located for all the major attractions that Cornwall has to offer e.g. Eden Project (6 miles), Heligan gardens, Boconnoc Estate, Lanhydrock House.

A very spacious and comfortable home with a friendly, stress free atmosphere making it the 'perfect place' for you to relax and unwind in.

Traditional full English breakfast, cooked on the Aga, is served in the family dining room or something lighter if you prefer, using local Cornish produce, where possible.

Guest lounge overlooking the gardens with colour TV and plenty of books and local information. Off road parking.

Children over 10 welcome. Sorry, no pets as we have our own dog, Barney. We ask guests not to smoke in the house.

There are two comfortably furnished bedrooms to choose from. Both have colour TV, tea and coffee making facilities. A hair dryer is also available.

The Balcony Room

An extra large, luxurious and spacious room which can be either a super kingsize double or twin. Full ensuite facilities - bath and separate shower. The room has its own lounge area and balcony with extensive views of the River Fowey valley.

The Paddock Room

A pretty double room with views overlooking the rear garden and paddock and towards the town of Lostwithiel. Full ensuite with bath and separate shower.

Local Attractions

The Eden Project only 6 miles; Lost Gardens of Heligan and the National Trust Lanhydrock House & Gardens are all within easy reach. Fowey Town & Harbour are closeby, where the famous Daphne Du Maurier Festival takes place in early May.

Boconnoc House and its surrounding estate is also closeby and is a popular venue for weddings.

A twenty minute walk from the house wiil take you to the ancient church of St Winnow - a tiny riverside hamlet on the Fowey estuary. From here, a path leads from the Church through the National Trust's Ethy Wood to the picturesque village of Lerryn. It is said to have some of the loveliest river scenery in Cornwall.

The sandy beaches on the south coast of Lantic Bay and Lansallos are about 20 minutes drive

There are also two 18 hole golf courses, Lostwithiel Golf & Country Club and Lanhydrock Golf Club close by.

In recent years, Lostwithiel, a charming historic town in its own right, has become "the antiques capital of Cornwall".

Further afield the delights of the new Falmouth Maritime Museum and the Tate Gallery of St Ives beckon.
