Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Barony House can comfortably accommodate up to 15 people at any one time and we regularly greet single guests on business, couples and families on holiday and whole parties in Edinburgh for weddings and functions, kilts and all!

We have a range of accommodation to suit your needs. 5 rooms en-suite and 1 private faclities. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and a complimentary tipple in every room. All rooms have a desk, colour TV, hair drier and central heating. Daily room service.

There are single double and super king beds to choose from.
Travel cots are free.

All rooms are non smoking.

Laundry service (seasonal). Route planning and tourist information.
Free wireless internet access and wi-fi. High chair.

Come for a short break and visit the fascinating Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Come and see the Hogmanay celebrations at year end they are world famous, or perhaps you fancy a short break playing some golf or just taking in the many interesting visitor attractions.

Visit the world famous Edinburgh Castle, the fabulous Royal Botanic Garden, our award winning Zoo or the exciting Dynamic Earth.

Take a stroll through the Historic Old Town and visit one of the many famous restaurants after a night at the Theatre.

The Palace of Holyrood is well worth a visit and you shouldn't miss a chance to see the old Royal Yacht Britannia .

Edinburgh is alive with Museums and Art Galleries that will take your breath away.

If dining out is your thing, Edinburgh has some of the best restaurants in Britain so you can rest assured you will have some lovely evenings out.

We have ghost tours, litarary tours and even a city below our city! There is so much to do you will want to return!

From South M6/A74
From the A74 take the A702 at ABINGTON Services through BIGGAR which will bring you on to the A720 City Bypass. Go round both roundabouts and join the Bypass where signposted "Edinburgh South & East". Leave the Bypass at the first junction marked "Straiton Junction", join the A701 and follow the signs for City Centre. After 2.5 miles (4 km) bear left onto Craigmillar Park. Half a mile further on you will see "Barony House" on the left.

From South M1
Take the A68 from Scotch Corner, through Jedburgh and Dalkeith. After Dalkeith the road will merge with the A7 where you follow the City Centre signs. When nearing the City Centre you will approach a large roundabout under a rail bridge. Take the 2nd exit ("City Centre A701" "Newington") and then turn right onto Craigmillar Park. Half a mile further on you will see "Barony House" on the right.

ALTERNATIVELY: Take the A1 round the coastal route and join the A720 City Bypass as you approach the city. Leave the Bypass at the first junction (Sheriffhall Roundabout) and join the A7 signposted Edinburgh where it merges with the A68. Then as above.

From Glasgow
The M8 Motorway now terminates at a roundabout known as the "Edinburgh Interchange". On the roundabout take the third exit signposted "Edinburgh South & East" and join the A720 City Bypass. Continue on the bypass until Straiton junction, leave the bypass and join the A701 as for M6 traffic.
