Bed and Breakfast Description

 

After a day walking in the hills you can settle in beside the fire and enjoy some homemade scones and tea in the Regency sitting room. Take an evening stroll up the lane to the George Pub for an evening meal. In the morning enjoy a candle-lit English breakfast with fruit patter served in the oak panelled dining room and in the summer you can have breakfast served on the lawns.

The large double bedroom features wooden painted floors, an antique iron bed, corner vanity sink and fine views over the manor lawns and paddocks. You have your own private bathroom and large fluffy bath towels and robes.

 

Ashbourne Attractions

 
The excellent village pub (The George) is close by, as is the fine Norman church. Enjoy scenic walks beside the River Dove and along the Manifold Valley. The historic market towns of Buxton, Bakewell, Matlock and Ashbourne are in easy reach. Local stately homes include Chatsworth House (featured in Pride & Prejudice) and Haddon Hall (featured in Jane Eyre).
 

B&B Location
 
Alstonefield is located between Ashbourne and Buxton off the A515. The turning to Alstonefield is 6 miles (North) from Ashbourne and 9 miles (South) from Buxton. Take the turning signed to Alstonefield off the A515 and proceed down the hill to the River Dove. Cross over the small stone bridge and take the right fork, proceed up the hill and into the village.

Entering the village, take the first left by the first village green and take the next left opposite the George Inn and second village green. Proceed on this road (Church Lane) heading towards the Church. The Manor and Old Estate Rooms are on the right just after a high stonewall. Parking is in the stable yard, past the house and first gateway on the right.
