Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Little Keasts is a smallholding of 6 acres offering quality en-suite accomodation nestling in the delightful and peaceful Draynes valley ( an area of outstanding natural beauty and historic and scientific interest ) A short walk from the beautiful nature reserve at Golitha Falls in the Parish of St Neot, Liskeard, Cornwall.

All ingrediants of our traditional full English breakfasts are either produced on the smallholding or locally sourced. The sausages, bacon and eggs come from our own pigs and chickens and the bread and preserves are made by Karen. We have a licensed bar, so at the end of the day you can sit with a drink in the garden enjoying the glorious views down the valley or relax in the bar.

We have two luxury en-suite bedrooms available for bed and breakfast bookings from £50 per room per night. Both rooms are sumptuously furnished and have spectacular views down the Draynes Valley and beyond. The largest of the two rooms boasts a fabulous superking size four poster bed. Our second room has a wonderfully comfortable king size bed. Please go to the 'our rooms' page for details.

We have two double letting rooms at Little Keasts, both are furnished and decorated to the highest standard. Each room is en-suite, provided with colour TV with freeview and DVD player, hair dryer, has tea/coffee making facilities and each double bed is fitted with a deep memory foam mattress for your comfort. We also have a large selection of books, magazines and DVDs for you to use and enjoy, please feel free to borrow them during your stay.

Rooms from £60 per room per night. Book a stay for 3 nights or more and get a 15% reduction on your room bill. The rooms are charged per room per night this is based 2 people sharing, there is no reduction for single occupancy.

 

Liskeard Attractions

 
Little Keasts is in the hamlet of Draynes (mentioned in the Doomesday book) conveniently located between the 2 major trunk roads in Cornwall (A30 and A38) so is ideally situated for you to reach all parts of the county with relative ease. Our nearest large town is the market town of Liskeard where you can find a variety of restaurants and pubs to suit all tastes. Bodmin moor is on the doorstep, with its rugged beauty, panoramic views and ancient monuments, it is a walkers paradise. The Bodmin Moor Copper Trail walk (approx 60 miles) is right on the doorstep.

Jamaica Inn, made famous by Daphne Du Maurier is a few minutes drive away.

St Neot church with its imposing stained glass windows is approx 2 miles down the lane. St Neot village itself with the local pub (which serves very good food) and monthly farmers market was voted Village of the Year 2004 and Village of the Decade 2006.

The quaint and picturesque fishing villages of Looe and Polperro are just 12 miles south, a delight for sea anglers and sightseers alike.

The Eden Project is approx 14 miles away which attracts visitors from all over the world to see the unique biospheres and wonderful array of trees and plants.

The charming county town of Truro, with its cobbled streets and bustling town centre is great for shopping and within easy driving distance.

The historic maritime city of Plymouth is a 25 mile journey over the Tamar bridge adjacent to Brunnels railway bridge built over 100 years before. Plymouth boasts a multitude of attractions with the National Aquarium, The Barbican and The Hoe with Smeatons Tower, also The Theatre Royal and Plymouth Pavilions.

Whether its expanses of white sand beaches and water sports, walking in miles of unspoilt countryside, exploring historic towns and quaint fishing villages or just relaxing over a beer, why not make Little Keasts your base when you visit Cornwall and make your holiday a most enjoyable and memorable one.
 

B&B Location

 
From the A30, take the Jamaica Inn turn off (Bolventor). Just opposite Jamaica Inn take the road signposted St Cleer 7 miles. Follow this road for approx 6 miles to the signpost for Golitha Falls, turn right here over the small humpback bridge and follow the lane for approx 1 mile. We are just set back off the road on the left as you drop down into the hamlet .

From the A38, at Dobwalls take the Common Moor/Darite/St Cleer signposted turning. Follow this road to the 'T' junction. Turn right signposted Launceston/St Cleer. Follow this road for approx 2 miles and at Redgate turn left signposted Draynes/Bolventor. Go down the hill for approx 250 yards to the signpost for the carpark/toilets at Golitha Falls, turn left here over the small humpback bridge and follow the lane for approx 1 mile. We are just set back off the road on the left as you drop down into the hamlet . (About 31/2 miles from Dobwalls)
